I went to Dr. Alvarez saved me from getting an unnecessary treatment another dentist recommended. I appreciated it how he examined me and answered my questions patiently. His staff was also very friendly! He was highly recommended and I second tenfold!

Dr. Boris Alvarez graduated from the New York University College of Dentistry. While attending NYU, he was accepted into the Senior Honors Program in Orofacial Pain. He continued to pursue his strong interest in surgical dental procedures during a General Practice Residency at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, an affiliate of Seton Hall University School of Graduate Medical Education in Paterson, New Jersey.
Dr. Alvarez attends many continuing education programs including a Residency in implant dentistry ,surgical and prosthetic phases sponsored by the AAID.
Dr. Alvarez is a certified lumineers provider as well as an invisalign certified provider. A firm believer in continuing education as a mean to improve his skills to better treat his patients, Dr Alvarez is actually pursuing a Fellowship on the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. Dr Alvarez has recently received his Fellowship Award from the prestigious Academy of General Dentistry.
He enjoys performing several procedures including molar root canal therapy, implant placement and restoration, surgical extractions, and aesthetic/cosmetic treatments.
Dr. Alvarez is a member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry , New Jersey Dental Association and The Passaic County dental Society.
During his free time, Dr. Alvarez enjoys spending time with his wife and their two sons. While he is not learning dentistry he also enjoys running, hiking, biking playing soccer and reading.

I had a great experience at Dr Alvarez's office. His staff and hygienist were wonderful. I don't think anyone looks forward to a teeth cleaning, however the hygienist was very pleasant and the cleaning was painless. Dr Alvarez has a great bedside manner. I am very happy that I found this dentist office.

Dr. Alvarez and his staff were amazing! They were very warm and friendly, and clearly are dedicated to providing quality care and customer (patient) service. My cleaning, done by a hygienist, was quick and painless and when the doctor came to see me about an issue I have, he gave me options rather than try to push me toward a procedure I don't need. He said he would look into how much insurance will cover and get me an accurate quote, and we could move forward from there. In my experience, doctors/dentists aren't necessarily trying to accommodate to the patient's financial situation and working so much with their insurance --they just want you to get xyz procedure done-- so I really appreciate the doctor being considerate of that. Overall, I had a lovely experience in a clean and modern office, and I got a nice goodie bag with new oral hygiene tools at the end. Also, there's netflix in the patient room, so you can watch (or listen) while you're getting cleaned.

I went in early just in case I had to fill out any extra paperwork they called me in 4 minutes to my appointment time. The dental Hygienist made me feel comfortable and explained everything thoroughly. Good First experience so far.

As someone who has a fear of dentists, Dr. Alvarez (& his staff) was super accommodating and wonderful. I felt comfortable in the chair after five minutes. They walked me through everything and made it a seamless experience. Highly recommend him to anyone (especially those who may not like going to the dentist)!
P.S- they have netflix available while you're in the chair--how cool!

Dr.Boris was great very friendly funny and gave great suggestions to further a great smile. His partner Vivian cleaned my teeth and was great as well. I waited two min tops and was out after an hour. I am no longer than scared of dentist!

Very nice guy and does quick and painless work. The office is a bit of a mess at the moment but don't let that stop you from going. Almost never a wait if you arrive near time of appointment. I even came late once and it was no problem at all. If you live in the area you should use Dr. Alvarez

He was so pleasant and knowledgeable. I will definitely be going back to see him! Be forewarned, however, he's renovating his office, so it's a bit of a mess. That didn't bother me at all--especially as Dr. Alvarez was apologetic about it.
