Dr. Brendan O’Neill wanted to be an orthodontist from the time he was in junior high. Once an awkward boy unwilling to smile or laugh without covering his teeth, Dr. O’Neill’s life and personality were transformed by braces! His dream going forward was to be able to positively change the lives of many children and adults through orthodontics.
Dr. O’Neill was raised in the farmlands of Lima, OH and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame in 2005. After college, Dr. O’Neill moved to New York City and earned a DDS from Columbia University’s College of Dental Medicine in 2009. At the end of his tenure at Columbia, Dr. O’Neill was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society for his outstanding academic achievements.
After dental school, Dr. O’Neill stayed in New York City and earned a Certificate in Orthodontics from Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2012. Dr. O’Neill is a board certified orthodontist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, an accomplishment attained by only a small group of practicing orthodontists in the country.
Dr. O’Neill is a very friendly, caring and compassionate person who is committed to delivering the highest quality of care for his patients. Throughout his training in New York City, Dr. O’Neill was involved in many outreach organizations to the underserved people of Harlem, Washington Heights, Brooklyn and the Bronx. The highlight of his service was a 2-week dental mission in which he treated children and adults in schools and churches all across Jamaica. Dr. O’Neill is an advocate of providing care to people who would not otherwise have access.
Beyond orthodontia, Dr. O’Neill loves spending time with family and friends, especially his identical twin brother, Kevan. He loves going to the movies, golfing, reading, hiking, traveling and eating all different types of food (especially spicy!).
