Dr. Caitlin S. Hulver takes great pride in the quality of her work and is passionate about giving her patients a confident smile, be it through preventative or restorative dentistry. She strives to make dental visits both comfortable, and enjoyable, for her patients.
Dr. Hulver is a proud native of West Virginia. She attended Marshall University and Virginia Commonwealth University for her undergraduate studies. She returned to her home state to attend the West Virginia University School of Dentistry in Morgantown. At WVU she earned several awards and scholarships for achievements in academics and for her clinical skills. Upon graduating in the top 5% of her class in 2013 she was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor society, which recognizes dental students who have distinguished themselves by excellence in scholarship, while demonstrating exemplary traits of character.
Following graduation, Dr. Hulver moved with her husband to the DC commuter area where she worked in a private practice for two years. In that period she gained experience treating both adults and children in all areas of general dentistry. In 2015, she was offered an opportunity to attend a dental residency program at the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV. Eager to continue learning and further her skills, she accepted the residency position. She thoroughly enjoyed providing dental care to veterans of all ages and walks of life – and gained invaluable experience in the process. When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Hulver loves to spend time with her husband Richard and their pug, Duke. She enjoys cooking, camping, going to concerts, and discovering all that the DMV has to offer.

Everyone in the office is very professional, warm and friendly. I had a very pleasant discussion with both the doctor and the hygienist, and will return for future treatments. I was, however, surprised about two things: ultrasonic tools were not used for my cleaning (they have always been used in the past, but this time I was told I did not need this type of cleaning), and no free dental care packages were offered (toothbrush + toothpaste, sometimes also including floss. I had never left a dentist's office without them, and had come to regard them as standard practice in dental care).

Excellent visit, only concern was that I wasn't offered a cup to rinse out with following my cleaning so left the office with my mouth feeling a little grimy despite the rinse from the dental assistant. But this is a very small concern, overall it was an excellent visit.

Dr. Hulver is amazing. I have a lot of anxiety about dentists (think tears streaming down my face during the X-ray portion of the exam) and she was incredibly understanding and walked me through everything. Can't recommend enough.

Accommodated my lateness due to being brand new to DC. Courteous and helpful staff; left clear and complete phone messages and emails. Loved the iPhone charging station. Exam room was small but packed with technology and gadgets for everything from mouth cameras to instant x-rays. Dr, Caitlin was professional yet friendly. Will return to complete my future dental work with her office and staff.

Before going to Dr. Hulver I hadn't been for a cleaning in a little bit since moving to DC. I was nervous since I hadn't found a dentist yet, having read her awesome reviews and being referred by a few people I decided to give her a try! I am so glad I did! Dr. Hulver is by far the best dentist I've ever been to. She's kind and helps address any problems in a straightforward matter. She's not just great at taking care of my teeth, but explaining in an easy to understand way what I need to do to take better care. Every time I've seen her it has been quick, painless, and completed without stress or confusion.

Dr. Hulver was excellent, very thorough and not pushy at all. She understood my concerns and would make the treatment plan accordingly to prioritize the issues and maximize the possibility for insurance coverage. The office staff, however, was not efficient or polite, especially the guy at the reception desk. At my first visit, he was chatting to a patient with all smile and enthusiasm about her holiday plan and had me wait there for more than 5 mins, and then suddenly turned on the poker face to me (what could I have possibly done wrong to him at my first visit??) During my follow up phone calls with him, he was also rude, either abruptly putting me on hold or hanging up the phone while I was still about to ask question. This is the most snobbish and discriminative receptionist that I've ever encountered in a doctor's office. Dr. Hulver might need to think about changing the receptionist, otherwise she might risk in losing patients.

I went in for a teeth cleaning at Dr. Hulver's office. It was my first time in that office and everyone was very nice. She explained to me how my teeth are looking with the x-ray and she was very thorough in cleaning and took her time to advise me on how to keep your teeth healthy. I would recommend her!

I was seen immediately and the front desk staff knew who I was as soon as I walked in. Dr. Hulver's assistant, Christina, was excellent in explaining the process of taking Xrays and answering my questions about insurance coverage. Dr. Hulver did my cleaning herself, which I really appreciated and was a first for me. She was very detailed in her cleaning and took the time to answer all my questions and take care of any issues I was having. I would highly recommend Dr. Hulver and look forward to future appointments with her!

Dr. Hulver and her dental hygienist were great. I was LONG overdue for a cleaning and check-up. They were both really nice and easy to talk to. Dr. Hulver did a thorough job while always making sure I was ok (which I was - no pain at all). The front desk staff were also incredibly friendly. And I ended up being seen 15 minutes early since I arrived early, even though I had a 4pm appointment. I'm not a big fan of going to the dentist, but I will definitely be going back to Dr. Hulver.
