Dr. Calvin Nguyen graduated from Louisiana State University Dental School in 1995. After graduation, Dr. Nguyen completed a two year general practice residency at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, LA. During this period of time, Dr. Nguyen served as a part- time clinical instructor at Louisiana State University Dental School.
During his residency, Dr. Nguyen exceeded his training to receive his license in IV sedation and certification in ACLS (Advanced Cardio Life Support) as well. Upon completion of his residency, he began practicing comprehensive dentistry in New Orleans where he performed numerous complex dental procedures as well as intravenous IV sedation.
In 1999 Dr. Nguyen decided to move to Northern Virginia to continue his love for general and cosmetic dentistry. Attention to detail, cleanliness and his genuine compassion for his patients makes Dr. Nguyen unique in the dental field. It is no surprise that Dr. Nguyen was awarded Outstanding General Dentistry Award by faculty and staff members. Dr. Nguyen was also selected by faculty/ staff to serve on the Cultural Diversity Panel. Dr. Nguyen is a member of the Virginia Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He enjoys every aspect of dentistry and advances his knowledge and education through continuing education courses.
When Dr. Nguyen is not performing general dentistry, he enjoys spending time on the tennis court and golf course. Dr. Nguyen is also an avid musician, who has played both the guitar and piano since childhood. He enjoys all types of music particularly jazz and blues. Dr. Nguyen also spends a portion of his time giving back to the community. While in New Orleans, he performed pro bono work providing dental services to underprivileged families. It was a wonderful experience. An extremely high tech office with a great staff that is extremely friendly but also knowledgeable. They let you know what they are doing before they do so. They also don't try to rip you off with extra treatments that you don't need. They look into what your insurance will cover and let you know how much you can expect to spend before you even come in for your appointment.

The dentist was pretty good, but the front office smells like cigarette smoke. I signed up for a cleaning at 9 am assuming I'd be in and out in 30 minutes as I've always been with other dentists. But they made me wait 30 minutes even after I'd arrived early to fill out paperwork. Then they sprung on me that X-rays were required, when I've been able to opt out of them at other dentists. I will likely not return to this practice.

This was my first visit to see Dr. Nguyen and I couldn't be happier! Dr. Nguyen was very friendly and professional. He made me feel very comfortable and the staff was wonderful. Everyone is so friendly and I am excited to see them again in 6 months!

I really liked how I was able to see what was going on with my teeth! Not only was I able to look at x-rays but also digital images focusing on some of my problem areas, all on a big TV screen. Along with his thorough explanations, I feel more informed about my dental situation.
