This was my first visit with Carolina Dental Arts for a morning appointment. The aesthetics of the office is different, but not necessarily in a bad way. It has a modern/contemporary look with many modern glass chandeliers hanging in the waiting area. Once you're getting seen, the feel is lowly lit, but I actually appreciate that. It doesn't make you feel like you're in a traditional dental environment. I also appreciated that it did not smell like a traditional dental office. It didn't really have any smell.
The reception and wait time was the only thing lacking for my experience. I had an 8 am appointment but was not seen until 8:20-25. Additionally, the ladies in reception and a couple dental hygienists were talking about a young female who was shadowing today, and although they weren't talking poorly of her, they weren't talking great either. It wasn't professional and it just seemed unnecessary to do, especially with a patient seeing and hearing it all.
It is appreciated that there is no giant lamp above my face, but instead, each hygienist/dentist uses their own personal dental headlight.
My Dental Hygenist was struggling to use the x-ray machine, but I believe that was not a user error but the machine was malfunctioning that day. She was very thorough. She would briefly tell me what she was about to do before doing something, which I appreciated.
When I met with Dr Powell, he was very kind and friendly. He is definitely a people-person. He took his time assessing my needs and was also thorough and to the point.
The tools they use are a mix of traditional (for cleaning and a general hygiene checkup) and the latest in technology.
Checkout was very easy. I would recommend this practice because of Dr Powell's professional and also laid back environment, and I would go back to see the same dental hygienist.

I learnt a lot with Rosie during my examination, she is gifted, and she is extremely generous with her knowledge.
Marie is very kind, patient, and friendly.
Not only the lobby harmonizes the atmosphere, but everything is organized.
