About Dr. Darshini Shah
In 1993, Dr. Darshini Shah obtained a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from the Government Dental College located in Ahmedabad, India. Following her love and passion for dentistry, she continued her education to receive a Masters in Endodontics from the same institution in 1995. Dr. Shah later came to United States to finish her Doctor of Dentistry degree from New York University College of Dentistry in 2001. Upon achieving all her degrees, she completed a year of General Practice Residency from State University New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook in 2002. After completing Residency, she has been practicing General Dentistry in New York City and Long Island area.
While practicing Dentistry, Dr. Shah is an active member to many dental organizations such as New York State Dental Association (NYSDA), American Dental Association (ADA), and Indian Dental Association (IDA).
Apart from her professional career, Dr. Shah enjoys traveling with her family and taking part in outdoor activities such as camping, walking, and biking. She also likes to follow sports that include tennis, cricket, and basketball.

She was in a rush to head to her other office and was very fast and sloppy with my cleaning. The water was dripping down my neck, and she didn’t even floss my teeth afterwards. When I got home And checked I still had tartar build up.

I was looking forward to my appointment because this dentist has good reviews and the staff I spoke to over the phone were very nice and professional. I was also taken in right away no wait time. But the cleaning lasted less than a minute. It was a waste of my time because she didn’t even attempt to clean all my teeth in my mouth. I can still feel tardar around my teeth. Also because she was rushing she hurt my gums. This is the first time I’ve been to a dentist and not walk out of the office with that clean teeth feeling you look forward to. I believe that she was rushing because there was another patient. I was double booked which is what happens if you book through Zocdoc. This dentist should be reported to the insurance company.

She violated my patient confidentiality by talking to me with doors open then going back to her worker and stating that she would inform them about her feelings once I left the building and then stated that I was the worst first impression she had in her career...

Dr. Shah patiently listened to my problems, analysed the situation and explained to me what needs to be done. She explained the insurance obligations and out of pocket costs. I was relieved off the pain and am glad that I went to her office.

I think the doctor is very thoughtful, patient, and forthcoming. Although I was not accustomed to re-used mouth pieces to get x-rays for my teeth. They were very accommodating because I really was not comfortable with using the re-used mouth pieces.

My friend referred me to Dr. Shah for a 2nd opinion on a chipped tooth. I was given a detailed explanation and thorough exam, as well as a temporary treatment for the tooth until the next appointment. My previous dentist did not explain what was wrong with my broken tooth and did not offer any alternative treatments besides a root canal.

Dr. Shah has been doing a fabulous job in taking care of our whole family. We have been their patients for years. We use her services for annual check-ups and any immediate needs, kids sometimes get cavities, I got a few root canals and crowns from her. Our last visit, we had annual check-up and cleaning for the whole family. She took care of some cavities for my kids as well. My kids are quite comfortable with her since she is very professional and friendly as well.
