Excellent Dr. with an excellent staff! I wish I knew the appointment was going to take more than two hours, I wouldn't have scheduled it on my lunch break. My fault for not asking how long it would take.

A vision of providing the highest quality dental care to his patients is what led Dr. James to develop Michigan Avenue Dental Associates, a dental group practice composed of two subgroups: Michigan Avenue General Dental Associates and Michigan Avenue Dental Specialty Associates.
He started his practice in 1975 when Dr. Kenneth C. Washburn, one of his dental school professors, asked him to be his associate. Since then he not only has maintained his own full-time private practice, but, maintaining the philosophy of his teacher and mentor, he continued to actively pursue his dental education. Successfully fulfilling the rigorous academic requirements of the Academy of General Dentistry, he received the academy’s “Fellowship” (F.A.G.D.) Award in l987 and in l991 he received the highest award the Academy bestows, to only a few members annually, the “Mastership” (M.A.G.A.) Award. In l992 he was honored by the American Society of Osseointegration, a component society of The International Congress of Oral Implantologists with a “Fellowship” Award for his accomplishments in “Dental Implantdontics”.

The office didn't have my appointment down (even though I had several confirmation emails and text messages on hand), so I had to wait over an hour to be seen for 20 minutes. While the head dentist was very kind, at times I felt he was talking to me about my teeth and dental history like I was a child, which I really did not appreciate.

I thought he was nice and professional but I do not like that I could not get a consultation and cleaning done in the same appointment. I now have to wait until December to get my teeth cleaned. I spent about 15 minutes with the Doctor if even that. I feel that there was more than enough time to clean my teeth as well especially since he said they looked healthy and I was doing a good job on cleaning on my own and no one was in the waiting room when I left.
