I met with Dr. Akinbi maybe a year or so ago and I recall her bedside manner being very warm. She was also very informative and professional which. I moved out of the area which is why I am no longer able to visit with her.

She is focused on personalized oral care and committed to the pursuit of excellence through continuing education. Dr. Akinbi received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, Richmond, VA and she has been practicing General and Family Dentistry in Virginia since 2005. Dr. Akinbi practiced in the Tidewater area before moving to Northern Virginia.
Dr. Akinbi believes in giving back to the community and volunteers at the local dental clinics when she can. She is a member of American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association and Dr. Akinbi has served on several committees of the Virginia Dental Association and the Peninsula Health District.
Dr. Akinbi likes sports and she is enjoying the hustle and bustle of Northern Virginia especially the outdoor activities with family and friends. She is married with 3 kids and a Yorkshire Terrier, Loki.

Dr. Akinbi is great, very professional and takes her time to explain what she found. I would definitely recommend her. I'm surprised she doesn't get more patients than she does. Perhaps that's because people (usually unknowingly) find doctors that look like them and since a large proportion of Fairfax has a lighter complexion she caters to a smaller population and gets less business. Of course I'm not a sociologist so take my observation with a grain of salt. My only critique would be that the facility looks dated but as a doctor I think she's great.

It was not only effective (just went in for a cleaning and answers on a few things), but she was very informative. I learned things I hadn't heard before about dental health.
She also gave me options for something I need done, one that tends to be covered by insurance and the potential drawbacks, and one that is perhaps better, but doesn't tend to be covered. I appreciated that kind of openness and honesty.

Her professional skills are too-notch and her gently touch enables her to calm even the most reluctant of visitors. I was almost 30 minutes late. Angela, who was her assistant during my visit, was amazingly polite and generous. The office is nicely decorated and in a really accessible location. Dr. Akinbi was very positive and very friendly. I haven't seen a dentist in 10 years and she did not take that as a chance to try and sell me on a bunch of other procedures. In fact, I didn't have to say "no" at all!
Great office, very friendly, and practical. I'll be going back in six months.

Dr. Akinbi always takes care to make sure I am comfortable (meaning numb!) before she starts a procedure. I was supposed to have a permanent crown put in today, but she wasn't happy with the quality and fit of it, so she decided to get a new one. It will be a two week delay, but the temporary is fine and I'd much rather wait for the right fit rather than having something that wouldn't be comfortable or secure. Her assistant Angela is also very nice. I recommend her highly.
