Dr Childers was great. I’ve seen him twice now. I’m absolutely terrified of any type of dental visit but I actually don’t dread seeing Dr Childers which is saying a lot. He has a great bedside manner and shows a genuine concern for his patients.

Dr. Gail Gerard Childers has been a practicing periodontist in the southern New Jersey area for the past 20 years. He graduated from Temple University School of Pharmacy and obtained his license for pharmacy (RPH). Continuing his education at Temple University School of Dentistry, he graduated with his DMD degree, and received the HARCO award for Periodontics and his Specialization Certificate in Periodontology. While in dental school he was elected by the student body to President of Student Council and worked closely with the faculty and the students.
Dr. Childers became a Diplomate of The American Board of Periodontology (Board Certified) and is under consideration to be a board examiner. He is currently on faculty at the University of Pennsylvania, lecturing and teaching pre-doctoral dental students and residents in the Graduate Department of Periodontology and Implant Perio-Prosthodontics from around the world.
Dr. Childers is currently President of the Northeastern Society of Periodontology. This regional group of periodontists from Maine to Maryland who disseminate knowledge and educate fellow periodontists is based in New York City. He is also a Fellow of the International Team of Implantologists (ITI), a group of 6000 clinicians, researchers and academicians that are leaders in the implant industry. Most recently, Dr. Childers serves on the board of the New Jersey Society of Periodontists and because he is an expert in the field of periodontology and dental implants he has been sought after by many manufacturers for being a consultant. I would say the Dr. Gerard was efficient with my procedure. However, he seemed annoyed at my follow-up question, and provided me with little information. His assistant had to provide me with details. He seemed to be in a rush to get me out of the chair and on to his next patient.
