My appointment was at 10am, and I didn't get called back until 1030am. While I was in the waiting room, I was listening to the front desk employees talk about their home decor for about 20 mins and I was not acknowledged once although I was waiting for a half an hour to be called back. When I checked out, the front office ladies were still talking about their home decor and I had to wait for them to finish their conversation to be fully checked out. Very unprofessional. The visit was late and felt rushed. I myself am a nurse and work in a medical office, so I know what is and what is not appropriate. Although I like my dentist, I may consider looking for an another due to this visit.

Really great experience here. I had no complaints except the X-Rays were a bit painful, as odd as that sounds. The treatment was also a bit painful, as dental treatments often are, but the X-Rays were a surprise! Dr. Gast is really kind and friendly and puts one at ease before treatment begins.

Dr. Gast is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area where he practiced for four years before moving to Chicago with his wife. He earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) at The University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco.
After dental school, Dr. Gast completed a graduate residency program in Advanced General Dentistry where he gained valuable experience in all areas of dentistry, including dental implants, dentures, Invisalign, endodontics, extractions, and treating patients with special needs. He was awarded Outstanding Resident of the year during his residency program and is a member of The Academy of General Dentistry and The Academy of Osseointegration. Dr. Gast enjoys sailing on Lake Michigan and spending his free time with his wife Melanie, dog Kona, and newborn son Graham.

Dr. Garrett was amazing he explained the whole process to me. His office also coordinated the financial aspect of my visit which is amazing. I usually do not like going to the dentist but I actually like coming here. Especially because I know my teeth are in good hands.

Mr. Gast was friendly and he reviewed my X-rays with me as soon as they were ready. He discussed my options and told me what my options were. I will be returning on Friday to get a tooth removed. So far I have enjoyed my experience with him.

I went in for a cleaning. I was very specific about only wanting a cleaning, and provided the office with instructions from my previous dentist. I asked for the cleaning several hundred times. I recieved a consultation instead.
I left that day with no cleaning.
I was there for roughly two hours.
I will never go there again.

Dr. Garrett was good. But the office is terribly managed. I made a Tuesday appointment for a dental cleaning. I stated the reason for my visit at least 7 times in paperwork and in conversation. Not to the very end of my visit after 12 x-rays did they tell me they have only ONE hygienist who does cleanings on FRIDAYS ONLY -- Just FYI if you're hoping to be seen any other day for this.

A very good doctor. Dr. Gast takes the time with you to explain what your options are and recommended treatment plan for short term and long term out look. He tells you what is best for you. There wasn't a moment he made me wonder if his treatment plan was about what would be the most costly and that was my best option and as we all know we all wonder if that's the option we can trust and are faced with when we place our lives and health in the hands of people we want to trust more then anything else. If more doctors treated you the way Dr. Gast does we all feel truly great and positive about making the decision easier putting our lives in professionals hands we need to trust. Not be concerned if they have your best interest in your hands

THE REASON FOR MY VISIT WAS TO GET THREE WISDOM TEETH PULLED. I WAS EXTREMELY NERVOUS BUT ONCE I GOT TO THE OFFICE, THE DENTIST AND THE PROFESSIONAL STAFF WAS AMAZING. I WAS IN THERE FOR ABOUT 35 MINUTES. ABOUT 15 MINUTES WAS FOR THE NUMBING MEDS TO NUMB ME AND THE REST WAS TO PULL THE TEETH!!!! HE'S THE BEST AND WILL BE VISITING THE OFFICE ON A REGULARLY BASIS.

Recommended deep cleaning with a very hard sell technique. There was no indication of periodontal disease or deep pockets nor mention of pocket depths at all. There was a lot of talk on how to pay the bill and get enough credit to do so.

Not having been to the dentist in over 10 years, I was a bit petrified, but this office and Dr. Gast are professional and polite. The waiting room doesn't even smell like a dentist office and the entire place is spotless clean. The tech who did my X-rays was energetic and quick, not to mention personable. Highly recommend! I'll be in next week for some minor work.

This was my first visit. The office was very clean and I was taken right away for x-rays. The Dr. came in about 30 minutes later, looked in my mouth, then explained what needed to be done. He gave me options but then offered his recommendation. Overall a good first visit.

Very clean and pleasant waiting area. The staff greeted me rough away and since I was 10 minutes early, I was called in right away. Fill out your forms online, this speeds things up for all. Staff doesn't introduce themselves except for the doctor, they just get right to business but in a very friendly way. I didn't feel rushed or like I was being processed and this can be rare in these times. I also didn't real as if my humanity was stripped away either. We all have had an experience when medical staff treated us like,"Oh I've seen that before, your not special", and I'm very happy to say, You won't get treated like that here. I felt completely respected and appreciated at Irving Park Family Dental.
There's patient parking in the front and rear of the building. Give them a try and you should have a good visit as I did.
