The soft candles, zen music and calming waterfall made for the
most relaxing dental cleaning I have ever encountered.
Dr. Smiley is professional, yet laid back; educated (Columbia University!) yet approachable.
I look forward to my next appointment and will be referring my friend for bridgework.

The Smiley name became synonymous with exceptional dental care in Montgomery, Alabama, when Dr. Emmett L. Smiley became the family’s first doctor in 1950. Dr. E.L. Smiley graduated from Meharry Medical College with his younger brother, Richmond Smiley, who graduated from the Dental Technology Program. Together they served central Alabama for more than 50 years, providing high-quality dentistry to all who came.
Of Dr. Smiley’s four children, two followed in his footsteps to become dentists. Both also graduated from Meharry Medical College Dr. Kim Smiley completed dental school in 1985 and obtained a specialty in pediatric dentistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She began practicing as a pediatric dentist in 1988 in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Wesley Smiley completed dental school in 2001 and served as Chief Resident of the General Dentistry Residency of Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons. He practiced family dentistry in New York before returning to Nashville.
Drs. Kim and Wesley Smiley have joined forces and built a practice with the capacity to provide the best of dental care for the entire family. Construction has been completed on the state-of-the-art, 4,000-square-foot office. The new location boasts all new equipment, increased capacity, more patient comforts, new technology, and more “elbow room”.

I have never had a more unprofessional experience with a dentist. I waited over an hour to be called back into the exam room, even though I had an appointment. There were several hygienists working on my teeth and coming in and out of the exam room. The woman polishing my teeth and giving me a cleaning did not have her long hair pulled back.
At one point the doctor used the term "gang-bang" to describe the scenario in the exam room because there were so many people in there. This was not only disturbing, but completely unprofessional. Both the hygienists, office manager, and dentist were speaking Spanish in front of me, and throughout my exam. This practice is rude and should be discontinued.
The dentist drilled out a loose filling, the reason for my visit, and put in a new one. My tooth has been in constant pain and my appointment was over a week ago. The only reason I went to this dentist was because it was only one of two that accepted my insurance. I would rather wait a year to be able to change my insurance plan than go back to this dentist.

I am very impressed with Dr. Smiles and his entire staff. They are professional, they are very good at their jobs, and this has been the best experience at a dentist I've ever had. My teeth were fixed painlessly, and the staff has compassion for their patients - how cool is that? I can't thank them enough for their help.
