He is amazing, he is stern yet friendly. He has safety in mind and he has your child's best interest in mind. I wish he did adults too because I would love to have him as a dentist. He is not afraid to be honest. My son needed a lot of work done and by the second visit he knew the routine. I can't talk highly enough of Dr. Canares.

Dr. Canares received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from New York University and completed his pediatric dental residency and master's degree at the University of Washington. Dr. Canares comes to us from Lutheran Medical Center in Rhode Island, where he was a faculty member in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and received the Faculty of the Year Award prior to joining us at Southgate Dental Care. In addition, he holds memberships in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, and is Board Certified with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
With extensive training in Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Canares feels strongly about properly introducing children to dentistry so they may benefit from good oral health as adolescents and adults. Dr. Canares believes in comprehensive dental care for children and employs many behavior guidance techniques such as Tell-Show-Do. Dr. Canares understands the importance of patience and compassion, striving to give his patients optimal care and the best experience possible at every visit. Dr. Canares is looking forward to working with our community and providing his expertise in Children's Dentistry.
Dr. Canares was born and raised in New Jersey and had worked as a corporate auditor in New York City prior to his career in dentistry. Dr. Canares enjoys working out and traveling with his wife, Therese, who also works with children at Johns Hopkins Hospital as a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician.

I think our visit was great. I loved how they made Mae Mae feel comfterable and not scared.

I thought the man was professional and thorough however he is listed as a pediatric dentist so I thought he may have a little more patience and tolerance of children and their curiousity/emotions. He seemed rather demanding of my child to be quiet and still which is not very likely especially in a new place. (This child was not the patient by the way, my other child was) so I didn't appreciate that much. Other then that very knowledgeable and efficent. Just make sure you don't have a jumping bean in his office as you will definetly be corrected.

Amazing Dentist and really knows how to work with hyperactive children. I wish I could take doctor with me to my next duty station. I never thought my child could get her teeth worked on until now.

My son's dental visit with Dr. Canares exceeded my expectations. My son was anxious about going to the dentist because his first visit ended up with him vomiting and crying during the visit. "Dr. Glenn" as my son calls him, was great! Dr. Canares has an easy going disposition, and that helped my son overcome his fears and anxiety about seeing the dentist. He liked his dentist visit so much he wanted to go back to see Dr. Canares the next day! I would recommend Dr. Canares to any parent looking for a professional and caring pediatric dentist who has a great rapport with children.

Ashlynn's visit went very well a week ago and Dr. Canares had told me what needed to happen. So, a week later we came back to get a cavity filled & 2 tooth sealed.
