Dr. Jake Son was born in Seoul, South Korea and made the move to the states when he was twelve. Other than English, he is fluent in Korean and is learning Spanish by watching movies in Spanish on Netflix. In undergraduate school, Dr. Son majored in Anthropology and appreciated how teeth may have evolved over time. Dr. Son then attended Tufts Dental School in Boston and graduated in the Summer of 2019. Becoming a dentist was not an easy journey, but Dr. Son was inspired by dentists who helped both him and his loved ones. When his family members struggled with dental issues and when Dr. Son himself experienced pain related to his teeth, help from a dentist really made an impact and those experiences led him to pursue dentistry as a career. Dr. Son is the first one in his family to become a dentist and is excited to embark on a journey of lifelong learning while helping patients. Outside of work, he likes to play tennis and watch movies.
