It was a pleasure meeting Dr. Kim. He has a relaxed demeanor, and it was clear from his questions he had taken the time to read the answers from my pre-visit survey. He explained options and procedures that no dentist I had ever visited had done quite so clearly. The staff I met were very friendly and professional.

Dr. James Kim was born and raised in the suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts. After completing his studies in biology and psychology at Boston College, he received his dental education and training at New York University College of Dentistry, where he also acquired a certification in Public Health. After completing his studies, he began his dental career back in his hometown, spending several years in private practice, as well as spending much needed with family. Life had different plans, and he soon found himself in San Francisco where he plans to reside long term.
Being a family oriented person, Dr. Kim spends much of his free time enjoying life with his wife Michelle and their dog, Bailey. Outdoor living has been a great benefit for James and Michelle since their move out west.

I enjoy going to the dentist as Dr. James Kim is an excellent dentist. He demeanor is wonderful and he makes you feel at ease during any type of procedure. The entire office staff is great to interact with.

Great first appointment! Dr. Kim was friendly and straightforward with me about my current dental health and his recommendations going forward. There was almost no wait to be seen at all and the appointment itself was quick and efficient. The office was cozy but not overly crowded. It was a little difficult to find the place as they have just moved and the building still has a different dentist's name listed, but just trust the address on file. There is a parking lot in the back and the main entrance is up the ramp from there.

I initially went to Dr. Kim thinking that he was a surgeon and wanting my wisdom teeth removed. In the first visit he said that he did not do this and instead gave me a cleaning, wanted to fill two cavities, and recommended a great surgeon who removed my teeth. After the tooth removal, I went back to Dr. Kim and let him fill one of the two cavities and regret that. Since then I have had significant nerve pain there when I floss. I have tried to make an appointment to see Dr. Kim again but scheduling has been unreasonably difficult and I'm not sure that he would be able to fix the damage. I would recommend trying someone else.
