I felt listened to during the appointment, they listened to my issue and put the care for my issue ahead of making me a permanent patient. Making sure I was taken care of properly, before then asking if I wanted to establish care.

I have always had some anxiety going to the dentist. As soon as I started seeing Dr. Hawthorne, this went away. His entire staff is friendly, welcoming and most of all caring. You feel this the minute you walk into the office. Dr. Hawthorne put me at ease during a dental procedure I’d never had before. Not only is he caring and extremely knowledgeable, he also takes the time to listen and answer questions, which is so important to me. I know it sounds crazy, but I actually look forward to going to the dentist now! Cannot recommend Dr. Hawthorne and is entire staff enough!

Dr. Jared Hawthorne is a Vancouver native who’s passion for dentistry started at a young age, when he spent many years working in the non-profit community of dentistry before becoming a dentist. His experiences helping those in need fostered his love for dentistry and crystallized his ambitions of one day owning a practice in the community he grew up in.
Dr. Hawthorne is a first-generation college graduate; he received his Bachelor of Science from Washington State University (Go Cougs!). He then went on to dental school at Western University of Health Sciences. After graduating, he had the privilege of working side by side with his childhood dentist's who helped foster his young spark for general dentistry and dentistry specialties from the beginning.
He strives for an inclusive and compassionate environment where he can create relationships with his patients to better their oral and, therefore, overall health. He wants to empower his patients to achieve their oral health goals and smile with confidence!
Dr. Hawthorne is committed to continuing education, always wanting to learn and grow to ensure he’s providing the best care possible for his patients. He is a member of the American Dentistry Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Spears Academy. However, is greatest joy and achievement is his family. He enjoys spending time with his partner, Brianna and their two young boys on the ball field, fishing, hunting, or pretty much anything outdoors.

West Vancouver Dental is that small family dentist office we have been looking for since moving to Portland. Dr. Hawthorne is incredibly skilled, knowledgeable, and makes it a point to connect with his patients. I have suffered from tooth pain and sensitivity for many years and for the first time in 20 years my teeth cleaning experience is pain free and my sensitivity drastically improved. I would highly recommend West Vancouver Dental to anyone.

Jared and his team are the best! I have extremely sensitive teeth, and my hygienist there always makes feel really comfortable. It makes me actually enjoy going to the dentist. Highly recommend!
