Dr. Jhosdyn was not there for my appointment I had someone else he was relaxed and nice. Very professional understood what procedure I needed right away. Very affordable dental work with insurance, not much parking but they will guide you personally if you need help looking for parking.

The office look well put together and they are taking all the measurements necessary to keep all the patients safe of Covid-19. All the staff was wonderful, I love that the staff is bilingual.

Early years….
I was born in Caracas, Venezuela before moving to the U.S and settling in Richmond, Va. I completed my undergraduate studies in Biology from James Madison University's Honors College in 2013 and received my DDS degree from the world’s first dental school, the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 2017. During my training, I gained a special appreciation for helping communities through dental care by participating in various Mission of Mercy projects serving local underserved populations as well as internationally in Central America through a partnership with Medical Ministry International.
Nowadays….
It is an honor and privilege to join a profession I love and one which gives me the ability to restore not only smiles, but self-confidence in so many individuals. I am always trying to learn the newest techniques and innovations in my field through continuing education courses. At RenovaSmiles, I work hand in hand with the entire team; from the front desk to hygienist and assistants, to provide individualized care and attention to your oral health care needs.
Personal facts about me:
During my free time, I enjoy staying active through local recreation leagues; playing anything from flag football, kickball, and the occasional tennis match. I love spending time with my family and always look forward to the next big reunion with my childhood friends. I am an avid lover of travel and enjoy visiting and getting to know other cultures, especially when it comes to the food!

I didn’t see Dr Barragan, it was a lady who took a look at my teeth but this place was nice. Everyone there was so nice and helpful. The lady who x rated my teeth and the other lady who cleaned them were so extremely nice and easy to talk to. I will definitely be back in March for my next appointment!

Dr. Barragan was amazing!! I am so afraid of dentists... but he made me feel comfortable and explained every part of the process. I had quite a few things done, with very minimal pain the next day. Which is a very big surprise. Il the entire staff was extremely friendly and they are all very meticulous when it comes to hygiene. I am very pleased with my experience and the results.

Probably the best dentist I have been too. The office staff was very helpful and very customer service oriented. The Hygienist was fantastic and very patient with me. I cannot say enough about how great Dr. Barragon is. He is clearly an excellent Dentist combined with being very patient, easy to talk with, he answered all my questions and took the time with me. He was very thorough and very kind. They got me out on time and really made me feel welcomed and appreciated. Excellent excellent choice for a Dentist.

Dr. Barragan helped resolve a problem that has been bothering me continuously for about a year. He was fast, efficient and the front desk lady, Wanda, is great as well. She is also very helpful. O can't remember the other ladies name at the front desk but she is also helpful and friendly. They are taking the proper safety precautions during the Covid-19 dilemma and the office has been very clean every time I've been inside. I look forward to doing all of my dental work there from now on and I highly recommend them. Thanks you guys so much for the relief of this terrible tooth discomfort. I feel like a new woman already! ??

Dr. Barragan was wonderful! I recently moved back to the area and I was worried about finding a new dentist. Dr. Barragan was extremely thorough with his explanations and recommendations. Besides addressing functional issues with my teeth, he answered a variety of cosmetic questions I had as well. Looking forward to the end results! Their front desk, especially Juan, were wonderful as well. I've never had someone come to me during my appointment to explain my services, insurance, and pricing breakdown, which was great. I actually felt like I understood what was happening and why I was being charged for certain services.

Truly an outstanding doctor, rare to meet Dr's like this!
Dr. Barragan was beyond professional, compassionate, and informative.
I had to visit often to get work done, and every time he would greet with a big smile and ask about how life is going!
I find it incredibly comforting to know that he takes his patients issues/ concerns very seriously and does what he can to make sure that you leave with peace of mind.

As always, my bi-annual cleaning appointment with Dr. Barragan was amazing. He took his time with my cleaning procedure and explaining the results from my x-ray's and detailed out what my next steps and follow-up appointments would entail. I was very satisfied with my appointment and look forward for my next visit.

I usually start reviews out with a short summary of pros and cons, but in this case I don’t have any cons. An awesome office that balances knowledgeable professionalism with familiarity and customer service.
After moving out of state, establishing a new dentist had fallen trough the cracks. In addition to making the first visit feel like I’d been a patient for years, everyone was beyond helpful with putting a realistic and attainable treatment plan in place to help me get my dental health back on track. It will be my pleasure to see them again in 6 months for a regular cleaning and follow up. #StillSmiling!

The dental hygienist was a nightmare. The only reason I came here was because my sister(a dds) moved to Boston/my other dentist was unavailable on the date I needed. The woman cleaning my teeth made me feel so uncomfortable & did a terrible job cleaning my teeth. She was rude & needed help using some of the equipment in the room which added to the stress of a situation. In fact I went home and immediately flossed the teeth she missed/did not floss properly only to find a piece of large plastic in my tooth from the X-ray machine mouth piece. Something that should have been very noticeable while she was aggressively rushing the process. There are also no doors in this office so if privacy is your thing, this place is not for you. The hygienist also disagreed with the dentists account of my teeth so I really don’t know who to trust or what the actual state of my teeth is. I wish I could get an insurance refund.

Dr. Barragan and his staff are incredible! I am 20 weeks pregnant dealing with a little baby boy who is hurting mamas teeth! They were so compassionate and so helpful in the process in keeping both of us safe! I will be returning to them for my wisdom teeth removal and Invisalign after the baby is born. I will also be bringing my husband for his cleaning here! LOVE the staff

Very nice. Explained all the procedures in detail and with video as I was very nervous. Staff is great, went out of their way to figure out which insurance I was covered under when I showed up with the wrong card. Would highly recommend if you are someone like me who hates going to the dentist because of how easy the made the visit.

Great experience and positive vibe. A little difficulty finding the office as it looks like it’s part of an apartment complex, but other than that, the staff and Dr. B were great! Try to give yourself plenty of time to find the building beforehand. I was running a little late, but they had no issue when I called to let them know. Also, my daughter loved the Dentist and they make it such a positive experience for kids. At the end she got to choose a treat from the treasure box they have at the front desk along with some cute chapstick. Overall I highly recommend Dr. B.

I did wait a little longer than I would have liked but the receptionist explained they were waiting for my insurance paperwork to come through. And everyone who came in while i was there was seen rather quickly! Not only was Dr. Barragan very nice and thorough the entire staff was super helpful and caring. Definitely would recommend!!
