Dr. Kurman is absolutely fantastic. She has wonderful bedside manner, and is extremely knowledgeable and pleasant. Her receptionist is also incredibly knowledgeable and kind. I can't remember the last time I genuinely wanted to revisit my dentist.

Dr. Joanna Kurman graduated from Syracuse University with her Bachelor’s of Science degree. She spent one year doing research in salivary diagnostics at NYU College of Dentistry and presented her research at the Greater New York Dental Meeting. She completed her dental training at NYU College of Dentistry and continued her education as a General Practice Resident at the Manhattan VA Hospital with an emphasis in Prosthodontics.
Dr. Kurman is a member of American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, New York State Dental Association, and New York County Dental Society. She is licensed to practice dentistry in New York as well as New Jersey. She was accepted into an honors program in her fourth year of dental school in which she was treating patients who had endured trauma prior to seeking asylum in the United States. In addition, she spent her residency treating Veterans and as a result, Dr. Kurman is uniquely qualified to treat patients with anxiety or apprehension towards dental treatment. Her empathy and compassion are some of the qualities that allow her to build a trusting and professional relationship with her patients.

I have severe anxiety about going to the dentist -- Dr. Kurman's kindness and compassion wiped my worries away. The appointment was efficient too -- no wait time and comprehensive exam, including x-rays and cleaning, took less than an hour. One of the best dental experiences I've had.
