About Dr. Eliaz Kaufman
Dr. Kaufman received his D.D.S. degree from Columbia University, where he also completed his 3 year Master of Science postgraduate program as a specialist in periodontics. The specialty program in periodontics included comprehensive training in implant dentistry, with strong emphasis on the surgical placement of implants and bone regeneration techniques.
During his Postgraduate Program in Periodontics, Dr. Kaufman was the recipient of the Melvin L. Morris research fund award for excellence, and the Columbia- Nobel Biocare fellowship award.
Dr. Kaufman also completed a 3 year postgraduate program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery which included advanced training in oral diagnosis, oral pathology and oral medicine, with strong emphasis on early detection and treatment of tumors (malignant and benign), oral lesions and diseases.
Dr. Kaufman is Board Certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He is a former full-time Assistant Professor in the Division of Periodontics at Columbia University and a part time Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at NYU.
Dr. Kaufman is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), The American Academy of Periodontology (AAP), The American Board of Periodontology (ABP) and the Northeastern Society of Periodontology (NESP).
Dr. Kaufman is the author of multiple scientific professional articles and has lectured both nationally and internationally on topics related to dental implants and periodontal disease.

Great doctor. I was a bit nervous but Dr.Kaufman explained pretty quickly and clearly what I needed to do to improve my situation. Very confident in his assessment and even though this was my first appointment, trust was established right away. Certainly looking forward to further treatment with him. The staff were/are polite, which was a big plus.

I like the X-ray technician she was extremely pleasant & made me feel very comfortable! However, the front desk staff...after signing me in did not keep me updated about the reason why the doctor was behind in seeing me until I asked. In addition to that prior to my appointment I spoke with several people ahead of time to make sure that my insurance covered me fully & was told that it did only to find out that the dentist is not in network and I'd need to pay out of pocket. I am furious at this because I feel as if they bring you into their office under false pretenses to charge your insurance. I am very disappointed & would exercise caution & ask lots of questions before selecting this practice! Not even so much as an apology was given for the misinformation!!!

It's been a long journey, but I couldn't have asked for a better care or better result. Dr. Kaufman made it a pleasant, pain-free experience. The implants have made such a difference in the way I feel about myself. Thank you so much for giving me my smile back.

I needed a bone graft and two implants. Dr. Kaufman was amazing. He's been doing this a long time and knows all the latest procedures. I was really apprehensive when I went in, but he made me feel at ease. By far, one of the most competent professionals I have seen.

I was referred to Dr. Kaufman by my general dentist for periodontal work. He put me completely at ease and explained everything to me. I didn't feel a thing. He is a great Periodontist and I would recommend him to anyone.
