Growing up in Flushing, MI, Dr. Jay Barta began his journey to a career in dentistry at the young age of 13. After having a tooth knocked out, he – as would many 13-year-olds – thought it was the end of the world. Under the kind and attentive care of his dental team, a career choice was being born. His interest had always been in the medical field, but the care he received to replace his missing tooth steered him to the health field of general dentistry.
In 2010, Dr. Barta earned his degree from Michigan State University before enrolling in their School of Dentistry where he earned his dental doctorate in 2014.
Practice Focus
Dr. Barta has focused his efforts on giving his patients high-quality results, delivered with integrity and compassion. Providing a wide variety of treatments is his priority so you can enjoy your care from one familiar team instead of being referred to unfamiliar offices. He has a strong desire to bring you the latest evidence-based treatments for your oral health and smile, so he continually upgrades his skills with continuing education and training.
Away from dentistry
When not providing his family of patients with a wide variety of options for their dental care, Dr. Barta participates in numerous activities to fuel his health, growth, and maximize his leisure time. You can find him on the slopes snowboarding, on the trails hiking, or playing team sports including soccer, basketball, softball, or disc golf. Dr. Barta also enjoys scuba diving, traveling, playing trivia games, and reading – for both pleasure and for his growth and development.
