Dr. Joshua Pruden is a practicing Endodontist who joined Annandale Smiles in 2019 so the practice could better serve our patients and save them money by allowing them to have root canals performed in our office. Dr. Pruden received both his undergraduate and dental degrees from the University of West Virginia. Dr. Pruden later completed his endodontic residency in Augusta, Georgia at Fort Gordon with US Army.
Dr. Pruden started practicing in 2012 for the US Army. He continues to support our troop with both his time and expertise. Dr. Pruden is faculty at the Walter Reed Endodontic Residency, where he teaches and mentors new doctors. He is also Chief of Endodontics for the US Army in the National Capital Region, Program Chairman of the Edward C Penick Endodontic Study Club and winner of multiple research awards.
Not all of Dr. Pruden’s time is dedicated to education and endodontics. He loves to spend time with his wife Tara whom he married in 2010. They currently live in Woodbridge, VA with their four young children. All four children were born within a 4 year period, so they keep him busy outside of work.

Excellent treatment. I am confident that this root canal will endure for a decade or more. Excellent support and courtesy throughout. The entire process from front desk until I was out the door, kudos!

I was in need of a root canal. It was getting very bad. I found Dr Pruden online & he was available to see me on a saturday. Great doctor & a great practice.
