This was an emergency visit for my daughter the Dr and her assistant were pleasant and calming for an 8 yr old having a rough day. absolutely amazing and as I left I scheduled appts for the family. cost is reasonable and she's very upfront about cost.

Dr. Joy Poskozim wanted to be a dentist in the eighth grade when she had her braces. She was fascinated by her teeth moving into place to have a nice smile! It took 3.5 years, but once they were off, she knew dentistry was for her.
The oldest of four, Dr. Poskozim grew up in Park Ridge and graduated from Maine South in 1990. She then attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI because this college had a dental school on campus. Joy sat in one dental class and was hooked. New York University College of Dentistry became the school for her, staying in New York City for 6 years. She completed a General Practice Residency in 2000 at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, then worked in Manhattan for one year.
After working at various general dental practices in the Chicagoland area for two years, she settled at a family practice in LakeView for four years as a cosmetic dental associate. In 2006, Dr. Poskozim found a practice in the Sauganash area of Chicago on the Northwest Side. She took over Smile Advisors, the office of Dr. Anthony Coletta. Since her sister is a local pharmacist, her father is a former Northeastern Illinois University Chemistry Professor, and her mother is a substitute teacher for District 219, Dr. Poskozim decided this location to be the best for her and Joyful Dental Care!

Once again, Dr. Joy is the best! I called her over the weekend with pain & tenderness in my tooth. She knew my history, called in an antibiotic Rx, and checked on me until I came in. A quick X ray confirmed all was well. I appreciate her concern and follow-up. I recommend her to everyone.
