The wait time was super long. The X-ray technician was rushing me and giving me attitude, but what else is new. The actual dentist though was kind, informative, etc. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to do the procedure because of other reasons and this office won’t be open again until May 2019 due to renovations. (It is March now)

Dr. Julia Abend graduated Summa Cum Laude from Hunter College of City University of New York with BA in Biology and proceeded to pursue her doctor of dental surgery (DDS) degree from New York University College of Dentistry, and graduated Summa Cum Laude, in 2002. At New York University, she was elected to Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honor Society.
To further specialize in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr.Abend completed her residency training at New York Presbyterian Hospital – Weill Cornell Medical Center and has been in private practice since 2006 while maintaining several hospital and teaching appointments.
Dr.Abend holds a faculty appointment at Weill Cornell Medical College. She is dually board certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Dental Anesthesia with membership in numerous professional societies.
Dr. Abend is currently on staff at New York Presbyterian Hospital – Weill Cornell Medical Center, New York Hospital-Queens and Mt. Sinai Medical Center, where she is actively involved in trauma coverage and resident’s education.
Dr. Abend’s clinical interests include full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgery, involving maxillofacial trauma, orthognathic surgery, oral pathology, facial reconstruction and dental implants.

I have to admit she came in the room and got straight to work before I knew it I was out walking towards my car the surgery came out awesome no swelling minimal pain I will definitely be going back to her for any of my needs.

My visit with Julia Abend was outstanding. I had a few extractons and to my surprise there’s minimal to no swelling. She was courteous and her staff was also magnificent. My fear of the dentist is no longer an issue to me. I definitely recommend. You won’t regret it.

my experience here was AMAZING. from the front desk to the assistants, everything went great. My appointment was for 11 I got there a little earlier & after filling out some paper work everything started on time. I was terrified walking in, I never had been put to sleep before so that’s what I was worried about. They assured me that everything was ok. Made the whole process 100% easier knowing there are people you can trust they were warm and welcoming. The dentist explained everything that was going to be done and also showed me whatever else is wrong with my teeth. I got two wisdom teeth removed instead of 4 which they give you the option to choose how ever many you want without pressuring you. I remember talking to her about what I like to drink then boom! I woke up and was done. I’m currently writing this house 7 hours after my extraction and other than a little pain nothing serious I feel amazing. I would recommend her 1000%

I came to this office to get my two wisdom teeth removed. My appointment was for 2 and I arrived about 10 minutes early. All I
had to do was sign some additional papers and wait for 10 minutes and I was able to go in. From the x-ray to a consultation to a CAT scan, all went really smooth. However, afterwards I ended up waiting 30-45 minutes to be seen again. Despite the wait I was not too upset as I could hear through the walls (he was yelling very loudly) they had a very uncooperative patient who refused to follow any of their directions which slowed everyone after him. Following that whole situation, The doctor and the technicians were very nice and apologized for making me wait, had me sign some more papers, and proceeded to begin the surgery. Everything with the exception of the wait went really smoothly and the staff were all really friendly. Following the operation I was given a paper that stated exactly what I needed to avoid, what is happening with my mouth, and what I can do to ensure a healthy recovery even verbal advice to the person I had come with me. All in all my experience was a Good and I would happily recommend for anyone thinking about seeing them.

Dr. Julia abend is a really great oral surgeon. I had two of my wisdom teeth removed from both sides yesterday and I was put under general anesthesia. It was a quick and easy process. When I woke up I thought I would feel instant pain but surprisingly for the whole day I didn't. I didn't get any stitches and I feel better than ever and would highly recommend this doctor. She is great! Thank you! And also her medical assistants were great and attentive. And got the process going fairly quick. They all explained detail by detail as to what they would be doing to my teeth and the healing process.

This office is EXTREMELY busy and getting through on the phone can be a challenge. Best to call in the mornings before the reception staff gets snippy. Dr. Abend and the team were excellent!

So I went to this surgeon facility & omg I was so paranoid about being put to sleep. I went 3 times I was really anxious because I suffer from panic attacks. They gave me a sedative pill I was so scared about taking the pill and they help me a lot to calm me down I had to reschedule 2 times and today was the day that I finally went and did it I really had to get this done and I'm thankful for the Doctor and all her assistants. The pill put me in a relaxing mood I was just calm and nothing I wasn't panicking I was fine and den they did the process I don't remember much I just remember talking and den he said it was all done it was like a piece of cake & it was my first time being put to sleep. Thanks to the greatest doctor I couldn't have done it without her help and the help of her assistants ??

Staff was awesome. They are a very busy office. They do a damn good job at everything. Front desks were always on point with explanation regarding bills and they were able to reschedule me sunday which is a blessing. Dental staff were all friendly. One of em managed to get the knockout juice syringe in my arm hassle free. Finally Dr. Abend, was professional and man she has ninja skills. I am down 2 wisdom tooth in a heartbeat. I slept like a baby during the procedure. No pain after surgery either, however there was significant swelling and discomfort after the wisdom teeth extractions. It took 3-4 weeks to fully recover.

Beyond me going because it was local, I also went because I was under the impression that it was basic dentistry AND Surgical. After waiting about an hour (busy place) to have a consultation, I found out it was only surgical. The nurses were nice but the doctor herself was not personable. She was very matter-of-fact as if she was ready to leave & it was only 11am. I had no work done so I cant say she's a bad dr.
