Awesome place and doctor. I haven't been to a dentist in 7 years and was very nervous. The staff was awesome and I wasn't judged for being a terrible person to my teeth.

Dr K Michael (Mike) Hood is a Phoenix native and fourth generation Arizonan. He attended Scottsdale School Districts Ingleside Elementary School. Dr Hood was a member of the Hopi-Ingleside Thunderbird Marching Band and as the Bands First Chair, First Clarinet, marched in many of Scottsdale's Parada del Sol's. While still in grade school, Dr Hood earned both the Boy Scouts of America's prestigious Eagle Scout and God and Country awards.
Dr Hood graduated from Arcadia High School. While attending Arcadia, he participated and lettered in both Football and Track. He also was a member of Arcadia's newspaper, the Arcadian and was nominated, by the Arcadian's faculty advisor, to Quill and Scroll, the International High School Journalism Honor Society. Dr Hood was schoolmates with the likes of Producer-Director, Steve Spielberg, Wonder Woman, Linda Carter, Astronaut Bill Shepherd and Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks.
Dr Mike attended NAU and graduated from Arizona State University (Go Sun Devils) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology. While still in his first semester of his senior year, Dr Hood was accepted to the prestigious Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas.
After graduating from Dental School, Dr Hood practiced in Oklahoma City for 2 years, before returning to his hometown of Phoenix, Arizona. Dr Hood joined Arizona's largest group practice, at the time, and soon became a partner, member of the Board of Directors and one of the Managing Partners of Arizona Dental Health Associates home office.
After 6 years with ADHA, Dr Hood decided that it was time to be on his own and started his private practice. That was 27 years ago and he is still practicing in the same location!
Dr Hood has constantly strived to stay current with the latest advancements in Dentistry. He was one of the first dentists in the United States to begin using the bonding techniques so commonly found in dental practices today and did his first Smile Makeover with Porcelain Veneers in 1986, on his wife, Cyndi. And yes, they are still married and the veneers are still in place!!
In the ensuing years, Dr Hood has done 10's of thousands of Cosmetic Procedures and still his thirst for Advance Dental Procedures has not been quenched. In May of 2008, Dr Hood completed his Advanced Certification II with Invisalign at the Townie Dental Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada and because of the number of cases that Dr Hood has done in the past year, Invisalign now has him rated as one of their Preferred Providers for 2011. Dr Mike has been so impressed with the Invisalign system, that he began, last year, straightening his own teeth with Invisalign.
Dr Hood is certified and licensed to use the newly FDA approved Periolase and LANAP technique for Laser Periodontal Therapy. It's a new, advanced technique for treating Periodontal (gum) disease without the cutting and sewing back of the gum tissue. Dr. Hood was one of the original 2 dentists to be Certified and Licensed for this less painful and advance method of treating gum disease, in the City of Phoenix.
Even while maintaining his active and growing Dental Practice, Dr Hood has found the time, over the years, to serve on the staff of the Phoenix Indian Hospital, be the Quality Assurance Director for Safeguard Health Plans, perform IME's (Independent Medical Evaluations) for several of the major Insurance Companies and currently serves as SCF Arizona's Dental Consultant.
Dr Mike is married and has four children. The oldest girls, "The Twins", are teachers, his son is in Medical School and the "baby" has decided to follow her sister's footsteps and become a teacher.

I just started seeing Dr. Hood this year. In the past I have had bad experiences going to the dentist. Let's face it no one likes going to the dentist. Dr. Hood and his staff put me at ease. He is kind, caring and gentle. I have come to realize not only does having straight white teeth and healthy gums give me back my self confidence it is the key to my over all health. I would and have recommended Dr. Hood to friends and family.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hood's for several years. Dr. Hood is a very knowledgable, attentive, understanding and compassionate dentist. He has impeccable chair side manner. His staff is amazing as well. Very caring office. Kim, his office manager never overbooks leaving you waiting. Dr. Hood and his staff understands how valuable your time is.
