Dr. Nelson is a native of Texas with a background rooted in dentistry. By the time he turned five, he knew that he wanted to be a dentist. His passion for the field continued throughout his high school years as he began working in a dental laboratory, focusing on crowns and bridges. Following his college graduation, he became a research coordinator on multiple clinical research studies, which focused strongly on cancers of the head and neck.
In 2001, Dr. Nelson graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center with honors where he continued to research cancers of the mouth. He has been practicing general dentistry for the past ten years and has been with Westlakes Family Dental since 2003.
Dr. Nelson’s active involvements and memberships include the San Antonio District Dental Society, the Texas Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Texas Academy of General Dentistry and the Christian Medical and Dental Association as a council chair.
