Dr. Nguyen and his staff were very patient with my 3 yr-old, very gentle with her while examining her. My child was allowed to sit in my lap while taking her X-rays which helped her calm down. Also, everything was explained to her very clearly so she could understand. I highly recommend Dr. Nyugen!

Dr. Khuong Nguyen is committed to the care of his patients and the ideals of pediatric dentistry. He loves creating a positive experience for children and finds great pleasure in helping them grow into happy and confident dental patients who will be cavity free and proud of their smile.
Dr. Nguyen received his degree in 1998 from University of South California. Following his graduation he pursued an additional year of advanced studies in general dentistry at University of California in Los Angeles.
Having discovered his true passion in providing care for children, in 2001 he completed a 2 year residency in pediatric dentistry at Lutheran Medical Center, a major teaching affiliate of the New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn NY. During his first year of residency, he was awarded "best project in pediatric dentistry" a research awards competition.
In 2008, after working several years in private practice as a pediatric dentist, Dr. Nguyen completed his Board Certification through the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He attends extensive continuing education each year.
Dr. Nguyen loves spending time with his many niece and nephews, siblings and friends. He enjoys traveling, reading and has developed a passion for both music and movies which resulted in a state of the art dental office equipped to provide children with the ability to listen to their favorite music or view their favorite movie while they receive their treatment.

My son is four. On the positive side, he enjoyed the fact that the same show was on throughout the office and he didn't dislike anyone there. He had an okay time, so for a cleaning and xrays they weren't bad -- but nothing to rave about either. As we walked in there were two people in front arguing, neither of whom looked up from their argument to greet us. Someone else came from around the corner while the other two continued rather loudly. It wasn't enough to scare me away, just somewhat unprofessional. My son seemed a bit confused and rushed, but he overall felt like he had an okay time. He has some work to be done. They told me that I should not tell him anything about what to expect ("Just tell him, 'We're going to the dentist again!'"), and that I would not be allowed into the room with him. I asked about general anesthesia and when I said I'd discuss with my son whether he'd rather be awake or asleep for the procedure, they acted like I was absolutely crazy. Both the doctor and the assistant assumed I must be talking about discussing it with my spouse and gave a blank stare when I said that it was up to the person getting the work done. My son is comfortable with the procedure, realizes it needs to be done, but wants me to be in the room with him. They were unwilling to have me be with him at all. That combined with the mediocre care was quite enough to find another provider to do the work on him. I have literally never fired a doctor of any kind before, but this was ridiculous. We are going to find someone who can be more respectful toward their little patients' wishes. Bonus if they don't want my kid to be sent in alone and uninformed about everything!

He was good. I think my expectations were really high based on the recommendation. Had I had no expectations I think I would have been more impressed. I was expecting a MORE kid friendly environment and this was a little underwhelming. He seemed very competent and he was very professional it just seemed a little sterile for a pediatric dentist.
