I completed my education at the University of Pittsburgh, where I received a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree, Orthodontic Specialty Certificate, Master of Dental Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. I graduated cum laude from Dentistry, and received the Milo Hellman Research Award for my research in Cranio-Facial Growth. I was inducted as a fellow of the American College of Dentists for services to the dental profession and I am certified by the American Board of Orthodontists.
I was privileged to serve as an associate professor in the Orthodontic Department at the University of Pittsburgh for over 20 years and as a visiting professor for Project Hope at the School of Dental Medicine in Lisbon, Portugal. I also provide pro-bono services twice a year in Portugal.
I have lectured nationally and internationally, and have published in my professional Journals and serve as reviewer for publications. I am a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontists, the American College of Dentists, the Pennsylvania, California, New Jersey and Texas Orthodontic Associations.
I was born in Brazil and I speak Portuguese and Spanish. I enjoy exercising, dance and the performing arts. I am passionate about the well-being of all animals and not only volunteer but also support organizations dedicated to prevent cruelty to animals. I am passionate about my profession and truly have the best job in the world.
