Dr. Yampolsky earned his dentistry degree from the University of Maryland in 1986. During his tenure there, he received numerous awards for academic excellence and was elected to the Gorgas Odontological Society and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society. He is also a recipient of the International College of Dentists' award for the freshman student with the highest grade point average and received the American Dental Association's award for the highest grade point average in the basic sciences. While in dental school, his outstanding performance in the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery earned him an award from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
In 1987 Dr. Yampolsky completed his general practice residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Department of Surgery, Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Baltimore, Maryland. Following completion of his general practice residency, Dr. Yampolsky went on to study periodontics at the Medical University of South Carolina. While there he obtained his Master of Science degree in microbiology and immunology. Dr. Yampolsky’s master's thesis abstract was published in the journal of the American Academy of Periodontology, after which he received recognition in the Orban Research Competition from the American Academy of Periodontology.
A member of the Greater Charleston Dental Study Club and an office holder in the Coastal Dental Study Club, Dr. Yampolsky learns about advancements in dentistry from colleagues throughout South Carolina. Dedicated to sharing his periodontal expertise with others, he is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Periodontology, the South Carolina Society of Periodontists, the South Carolina Dental Association,

Visit was great! Staff was flexible to move my appointment up since this was an emergency and I was visiting out of town. Dr. Yam also called my dentist in NY to discuss the situation and then referred me to a Specialist close by for an immediate evaluation. Even called to his collegues to get someone who could see me that same day. Very professional.

Dr. Yampolsky was awesome. His entire staff was friendly and professional. I hadn't been to the dentist in years, so I was a little worries, but after leaving, I feel great (not often you can say that after a trip to the dentist!). I definitely recommend!!
