Dr. Stuart was a dental hygienist for 10 years prior to continuing her education as a dentist and subsequently becoming a Periodontist. She graduated from dental hygiene school in 1993 from Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, Florida. After getting married to her husband Roy in 2001, she attended the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio and graduated as a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2008. She then entered active duty in the United States Army as a general dentist and attended a one year advanced general dentistry residency at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. After two more years of general dentistry practice, she attended her 3 year Periodontal Residency at Fort Gordon in Augusta, Georgia and simultaneously attended Georgia Regents University also located in Augusta, Georgia. She graduated from both schools in 2014 with her certificate in Periodontics and a masters in Oral Biology. In 2015 she challenged and passed the American Board of Periodontology and became a diplomate. She is currently a member of the American Academy of Periodontology. In 2017, Dr. Stuart was assigned to serve at Fort Carson as the Chief of Periodontics and is the periodontal mentor at the One Year Advanced Educational General Dentistry Residency. Dr. Stuart enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking in the beautiful Colorado Mountains, and attending church at First United Methodist Church in downtown Colorado Springs.
