Dr Mehrdad Safavian (Dr. Safa) grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from Mariemont High School in Cincinnati and completed his undergraduate studies at Xavier University.
Dr. Safa received his dental education at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, where he became a true Buckeye Dentist!
He expanded his education at OSU, receiving training for Pediatric, Anesthesiology, Prosthodontics, Orthodontics and Aesthetics, as part of his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He has combined his knowledge of technology from 4 years of undergraduate studies with his dental knowledge to bring the latest technologies to his patients with confidence, ease and comfort.
In the years following his graduation, Dr. Safa focused on dental aesthetics such as veneers, crowns and orthodontics in addition to prosthodontics, dentures and mini implants.
Dr Safa has been an active member of the community and is passionate about giving back to the community - he volunteers and participates in community service to those in need. It's hard not to notice Dr. Safa's professionalism, sense of humor and passion for dentistry, which is apparent through the gentle service he provides to his patients.

Dr. Safa is married to Selma, a dental hygienist. He is a world traveler. He enjoys volunteering for the community, reading books and watching Buckeye games. His hobbies are playing soccer, basketball, reading and taking nature walks.

I was having trouble finding parking and was a bit late for my appointment, so i called the office and the front desk ladies were very helpful, giving me directions to parking lots and excusing my considerable tardiness. All quite pleasant!

Since the last time I was at the dentist was over 20 years ago and was not a good experience, I was apprehensive to having major dental work performed. Dr. Safavian promised everything would be fine and he lived up to his word. It was as painless as any dental experience I've had and I'm thrilled with the results. I would highly recommend Dr. Safavian to anyone who avoids going to the dentist because of past bad experiences.

I usually have to wait just to get into my apmt - then I feel like Im there for a long time after i reach the chair. It's really hard to schedule if you are a busy person.

My visit again with Dr. Safavian was just everything amazing. I was treated very politely and felt remarkably comfortable in comparison with other previous dentists. This is absolutely my go to spot for dental work, I recommend this to you if you are looking for absolute top notch quality and astonishing teeth.

Dr. Safavian was great, but the hygienist was not so great. She was very tough on the teeth and gums when performing the cleaning.

Dr. Safavian was very pleasant and explained everything to me during my appointment. The staff were great and friendly, too. The procedures were quick and I was done quickly. The office itself was a great environment. I would definitely highly recommend Dr. Safavian!!

The Visit went very well and I was very happy with it. The Dental Hygienist and Dr Safavian were very knowledgeable and friendly.
My only complaint is as follows:
They offered Free whitening for new clients. I had to schedule a second visit to be fitted for whitening trays (it only took 10 minutes) It was very inconvenient to make a second appointment for this when it should have been done the same day of the cleaning. I had to reschedule the appointment twice because they were out of product. Then I had to schedule a third appointment to make sure the whitening trays fit correctly.
Overall if I could have skipped appointment two I would have been a lot more satisfied.

I went in to have my teeth cleaned, and I felt rushed through the process. The hygienist had to stop before my cleaning was finished to go finish someone else's cleaning. I just don't feel like I had a good cleaning since it was rushed and paused half way through. Other than the rush everything else was fine.

The dentist was a nice man who did take the time to talk through a question with me. He wasn't dramatic and he acknowledged that he was thinking long term about things and understood if I wasn't there yet. The dental assistant wasn't as savvy. Having never been to this doctor or office before she made the usual superficial "getting to know you" gestures but then launched right into her sell mode. Being a student of marketing, I marveled that she thought bringing up Invisalign and it's long, expensive treatment plan would go over well when there was no trust established or reason for me to believe I might want to enter into such a relationship with a new provider. She was a nice person but this was a bad decision in my opinion. The front desk interaction was also less then stellar given her printer didn't work and she asked about scheduling a follow up that I knew nothing about. When I said no, she mentioned a treatment plan, which I had not seen, and she didn't offer to share with me. I may not have liked the bedside manner of my former dentist, hence why I tried a new one, but I do have to give them credit for always sharing a plan and the costs with me. Again, I'm a new patient and if you're truly trying to build a long term relationship then I don't think it's too much to ask for an explanation of the proposed treatment plan as well to back off selling the upgrades until at least the second meeting.
