Michael Gwaltney, D.D.S. is a native of Richmond, Virginia, where he graduated from the University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 1989. Dr. Gwaltney received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University in 1993. After graduation from dental school, he began a private practice in Richmond. He volunteered in and directed the Love of Jesus Dental Clinic, a free clinic that was located in Midlothian, Virginia, from 2006 to 2008. In 2010, he moved to Northern Virginia.
Dr. Gwaltney enjoys all areas of general dentistry and actively pursues continuing dental education. He values educating his patients about their dental needs and working with them to improve their smiles. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, and the Northern Virginia Dental Society. He also works with Northern Virginia Family Services.
Dr. Gwaltney enjoys spending his free time with family and friends. He is married to Magdalena, a dental hygienist, and has two beautiful children, Alexandra, 8, and Michael, Jr., who is 5 months old. His hobbies include repairing and restoring cars, reading, traveling, and exploring the area. He currently lives in Cascades, Sterling, VA.

I thoroughly enjoyed my consultation today. Dr Gwaltney was very knowledgeable and had an excellent bedside manner. He spent a lot of time explaining what procedures would best support the outcome I am looking for. He talked me out of a procedure that would have cost me an unnecessary expense and recommended an over the counter solution that would cost pennies. I've never had a dentist do that before. I would highly recommend him to anyone. And I can't forget to mention how friendly and helpful the front office staff is!!!
