It was a combination of things. Dr. Tannen is first of all very skilled, and can handle a wide range of dental problems. I came in with two premolars ground down to the pulp and she was able to take that on right away. Her bedside manner is terrific and she was able to treat me with less pain than I have experienced with other dentists. Finally, Dr. Tannen and her staff are very positive and caring.

Dr. Millie K. Tannen has been in practice in Jacksonville, Florida, for more than 30 years, and takes pride in belonging to a profession that changes people’s lives. In 2008, Dr. Tannen became a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry, an award achieved by only 1% of dentists. She is also a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and is a member of other professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, and the Jacksonville Dental Society.
For her undergraduate degree, Dr. Tannen attended the College of William and Mary. She pursued her doctoral dental degree at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. Dr. Tannen has continued her dental education with training through institutions including the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, the Kois Center, and the Misch International Implant Institute.
Patients visiting Dr. Tannen can receive a full range of dental services. In particular, Dr. Tannen enjoys using oral sedation or "relaxation dentistry" to help anxious patients receive the comfortable care they need.
When she is not treating patients, Dr. Tannen is an active member of Toastmasters International. She is a past president of the Toast of Jax club and a past Area Governor. She also enjoys reading, Pilates, and travel.
Dr. Tannen has been married to her husband Edward for 36 years. They have two sons, Sam and Jonathan.
