Dr. Pearl was born and raised in Philadelphia and studied dentistry at Temple University. She has worked in both general and pediatric dental practices in and around Philadelphia and New Jersey and prides herself in enabling her patients to improve their oral hygiene and see it as an integral part of a happy healthy lifestyle. In her spare time she loves hiking, scuba diving, photography and spending time with her husband and two children.
Aniko Dental Laboratories, Pearl Dental’s in-house denture laboratory, has over 30 years’ experience providing Philadelphia area dentists with artistic, comfortable dentures made right here in Philadelphia. The on-site lab can provide an incredibly fast turn-around for patients including same day repairs and a one week turn around for custom made, comfortable new dentures they can rely on.

This was my first dentist visit in a long time, so I was nervous. The staff at this office were kind and welcoming from the first second I walked in. They explained exactly what they were doing and what I could expect. I left with a nice new toothbrush and recommendations for dental care products. Overall it was a great visit and I'd recommend this practice to anyone!

Very thorough - also good about reminding you to follow up with other healthcare such as a mole screens and PMD visits. She did an oral cancer screen and I don't think I've ever had that done before! Or at least not as thoroughly

I liked Dr. Pearl. She took time to clarify my medical and dental history, since it was my first visit. Some of her bedside manner seemed like it was more suited for younger patients, but overall she was friendly and thorough. She has a small office, so be prepared to wait to be greeted if she and the hygienist are with a patient.

I have been to Dr. Unterman 3 times in the past few months and every time she has been great. I was even a half hour late for my first appointment because I couldn't find parking and she still saw me right away. She is knowledgeable, quick, and very friendly. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dentist.

Pearl was very friend, gentle and informative. She provided a great deal of feedback and suggestion on how to best take care of my teeth without being judgmental at all. She was thorough during the cleaning and even sent her assistant next door to find the flavor of tooth polish that I like when she did not have it herself. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Pearl Unterman is such a delight. She called me back personally to help schedule my appointment as soon as possible to fix my chipped tooth. Her beautiful corner office is settled high above Walnut street providing a calm yet professional setting.
I cannot thank her enough for accommodating me and giving me my smile back!

Pearl is a great dentist. She's friendly and professional and made me feel totally at ease. Also, she was not judgmental about my bad dental habits, which was nice; I was worried I was going to get scolded for not flossing often enough. Highly recommend!

Dr. Pearl is a careful, gentle, skillful and accomplished practitioner.
She is available off hours if a patient needs her, either to accommodate work or school requirements or certainly for an emergency. I would recommend her services to anyone. She has saved a tooth of mine without performing a root canal which would
have been the simple recourse for most dentists. Her fee schedule is clearly reasonable. She is facile with new technology and any
appropriate explanations.
