I had a wonderful first visit with Dr. Pappas. She has excellent bedside manner and explained the entire treatment as she went along. She also consistently checked to make sure that I was comfortable during the visit. The other staff in the office were very friendly and helpful, as well.

Dr. Pappas told me I had six cavities that needed to be filled and two that needed to be monitored. I have never had a cavity filled in my life. I sent my X-Rays to my long time dentist that I had switched from for convenience reasons. He told me he couldn't see anything and I didn't need any to be filled. I went in to see him about six months later and both he and the hygienist SEARCHED for signs of these cavities to see if there was any reason someone would say this. They see the one cavity I have had for about 5 years with no signs of change and they are waiting to fill it until it starts changing. He is admittedly conservative about filling cavities but also does not see signs of any of the others Dr. Pappas wanted to have filled. I of course am not able to say whether or not either of the dentists were accurate in their diagnosis, but this is my current experience with Dr. Pappas

I've bounced around to a few dentists in Chicago, but Dr. Pappas has by far been the best. She was nice, understanding, and most of all not judgy, especially when I told her it had been awhile since I had last seen a dentist. She totally understood and made me feel at ease. When I had to have a cavity filled, she even did it on the spot to save me a trip. I have finally found a dentist I don't mind going back to.

Dr. Rachel was great! I was one of those that hadn't visited the dentist in awhile. She was so understanding and even encouraging about having taken the initiative to come back in, but was great at a general consultation and explaining everything.

I saw Dr. Pappas about a month ago. She was great as a doctor, very friendly and kind. I have some cavities and scheduled to have them filled today, August 4th, about month after my initial visit.
I received a confirmation voicemail from the office two days prior to todays visit confirming my appointment for 10:30 am. I arrived promptly at my scheduled time. Upon arriving the receptionist told me that my appointment was not for 10:30am, rather at 11:00am. This was not problematic by itself, but I informed her of my confirmation voice mail and she continued to disagree with me stating without apology and in a very aggressive, rude tone that "the doctor will see me when she's available".
I like Dr. Pappas, however because of my experience with her staff this morning I will no longer be visiting her office.

Dr. Pappas is the best dentist I've ever had! She explained everything that needed to be done and everything she was doing very clearly and compassionately. Everyone else in the office is very down-to-earth and friendly as well, and the front desk staff sat me down after each appointment to go over the treatment plan, payment details, etc. I definitely recommend Dr. Pappas and Brighter Dental.

Could it be... that I actually enjoyed my trip to the dentist?
I actively dislike going to the dentist, but Dr. Pappas did a fabulous job of making me feel comfortable and explaining exactly what she was doing and seeing. She was personable, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful in suggesting some possible treatments for a dental problem I've had for some years. I've noticed a tendency of some dentists to be a bit preachy – you know, the whole "you floss how many times a week?" thing – but Dr. Pappas couldn't have been more pleasant and proactive. Highly recommend this office!
