Professional Statement

At a very early age, Dr. Armel observed her father, Dr. Joe Armel of Marin County, create a cosmetic dental practice based on taking care of the patient with excellence, compassion & progressive approaches. His example inspired Dr. Rebecca to choose dentistry as her profession at age 12 and to build her practice sharing many of her father’s values.

Rebecca Armel is a Bay Area native, attending Bacich, Kent Middle and Redwood High Schools. She furthered her studies at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, and graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Physiology. She attended the University of Pacific School of Dentisty in San Francisco and graduated in 1997.

With over 11 years of dental practice experience, Dr. Armel is schooled in all facets of dentistry. She is constantly continuing her education, learning about new techniques and cutting edge procedures to offer the best quality dental care available. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the San Francisco Dental Society, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentists, the California Dentist’s Guild, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the Union Square Association.

If you have a PPO dental insurance, we more than likely will accept it. Please give us a call and we would be more than happy to check how your plan would work with our office.

The person who took the dental x-rays was not able to do them. She left out half the x-rays and told the dentist about my having very large Tories (bones in the bottom of my mouth). The dentist came in very mad and treated me like I was a problem that her x-ray person could not do the x-rays. I have had x-rays done completely in the past. It's not my fault the x-ray person could not do her job. Once the dentist saw my large Tories then she reintroduced herself, said her name again with a nicer tone (which is a whole lot of crazy). Why be mad at me before checking my mouth? Makes no sense. Then she wanted to give me Aderol to calm down and mentioned "people say it is very addictive." Do not tell me a drug is very addictive and offer it to me. I told the dentist I had taken one and a half tablets of SOMA prior to the dental appointment, that's the only reason I could stand all the pain the x-rays were causing me. I told the dentist it's probably not a good idea to mix SOMA and Aderol. I have no idea what Aderol does, had taken SOMA on an empty stomach and was feeling tired. The dentist had her dog in the office and then asked me if I'm afraid of dogs, she acted like I was the one who was crazy when here they could not do the x-rays, got mad at me over it without even looking at my mouth, then offered me a drug. I told the dentist I have Lyme Disease and she acted mad that I had not mentioned it prior. I told her the Lyme doctor told me I get the brown lines around my gum line due to the Lyme disease. The dentist accused me of smoking even though I do not smoke and quit ten years ago and even though I had told her this is from Lyme Disease and I told her all my life I never had those brown lines, yet I did smoke for a long time when I was younger, never had those brown lines, yet she accused me of smoking. Total mess. She's so unprofessional and they should be able to do x-rays and if they can't figure out how to do them do not be mean to me about it. I told the dentist I have been using nicotine gum for many years now and it has worn the enamel off of my teeth so they hurt and are sensitive. Yet here she still lied that it looks like I smoke when I told her I have been taking nicotine gum for many years. None of it was nice, none of it made any sense. I was so upset I paid for the partial x-rays and left.

Very nice and knowledgable dentist! She talked to me about things that other dentists have overlooked and referred me to a facial pain clinic. The receptionist, Josh, was extremely helpful with my insurance since it's my first time using dental insurance and I had a lot of questions. High recommended!

She was very nice and kind and had very good advice about my current and future dental care. She even noted that a former dentist was probably trying to upsell me with more rigorous cosmetic treatment - I take notice of honesty! I also enjoyed the front desk's explanation of my complicated benefits and a timeline for my out of pocket expenses. No surprises! I'll definitely be returning to this office.

I was one of those kids who got to enjoy braces! And wisdom teeth being pulled! And retainers! Oh how I loved those... And mean dentists... Oh and most of my adult I avoided the dentist. So... It had been a few years since my last visit to the dentist. But fear NOT, Rebecca and Josh are just so welcoming and just kinda cool... So yeah, give 'em a try.
