I have been a patient for over 10 years and would never even consider seeing another dentist. She makes you feel comfortable and she listens to your concerns. It is so nice to have a Dr. who actually will take time to talk with you and not just rush from patient to patient.

Dr. Kumar has always been interested in Science ever since she was in elementary school and loved to work with her hands. When it was time to choose a career, dentistry seemed like the perfect way to combine her interest in Science with her artistic gifts and her desire to help people.
Dr. Kumar graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in the top 10% of her class and has practiced in Phoenix since 1986. She has taught in the Dental Hygiene Program at Phoenix College.
Dr Kumar is a peer reviewer for the Journal of General Dentistry published by The Academy of General Dentistry. She is also a product evaluator for several different dental manufacturers. She has no financial interests in any dental manufacturing company. She is involved in research with the National Dental Practice-Based Research Network.
Dr. Kumar received the 1986 American Academy of Oral Pathology Award for outstanding interest, promise, and achievement in the field of Oral Pathology. In 1992, she was selected to the Who’s Who Among Rising Young Americans in American Society and Business. In 2003-2004, she was selected to America's Top Dentists by the Consumer’s Research Council of America. She is a volunteer with the Arizona Mission of Mercy and Special Olympics.
Dr. Kumar is committed to constantly updating her knowledge and skills, so she can offer her patients the best dentistry has to offer. Dr. Kumar and her husband have been blessed with a son and a daughter and reside in Scottsdale. In her free time she enjoys cooking, reading and hiking.

Renuka Kumar was great. The lady that put my X-rays in my mouth, Darlene, was awful and got super impatient and frustrated with me after the first one and was being unprofessional and rude about it. This made the whole process even more painful and unbearable. I was the first appointment of the day, she just didn’t act like she cared about me as a patien, just shoving the X-ray things in my mouth and yelling at me. Even though I don’t have to get X-rays on my next visit I’m still probably going to go somewhere else. I usually enjoy going to the dentist, but this was a bad experience for me.

I have been seeing Dr. Kumar for over 10 years. Dr. Kumar and her staff always go above and beyond to make every patient feel important and well cared for. Dr. Kumar is thorough and efficient and ensures the patient is consistently comfortable when she is working on a procedure. She is an excellent dentist!

She is always very caring and gentle. She lets me prop my head up with a pillow and gives me sunglasses so that I will be more comfortable. Also, she has evening appointments on Tuesdays which suits my schedule better.

Dr. Kumar is the best dentist I have ever had. She is very thorough and skilled at all that she does. When she tells me I need a cavity filled or some other work done, I can trust that she is looking out for my overall health and well-being, helping me keep my teeth as long as I possibly can! She is also a very kind and patient doctor. A trustworthy, kind, and highly skilled dentist - that's Dr. Kumar, my favorite dentist!

She is incredibly knowledgeable (I *always* learn something about my teeth/ dental hygiene care with each visit), caring, thorough, and so personable. I have been a patient of Dr. Kumar's for many years now. Each time I visit, I welcomed and made comfortable. Dr. Kumar is thorough in her examinations and her recommendations for a treatment plan are sound and never an "up sell." I am in good hands. Included in those hands is her support staff, especially Denise, the dental hygienist. Denise does a great job of ensuring my comfort during her exam and cleaning. She keeps me apprised of what she s doing and provides feedback as to my oral hygiene and what I should continue to do or not do. I am grateful for Dr. Kumar and her team.

My visit to Dr. Kumar was for a crown, she was very gentle & compassionate. Eventhough I was in the chair for over an hour she kept asking me if I was ok & I was, especially comfortable sitting in the chair that massages your back so relaxing! I'm sure many people don't say that when they go to the dentist!
