I thought Dr. Peterson was very knowledgable and professional.
I thought my experience with the lady who explained the financial
aspect of the treatment could have been much better. First she
did not allow me to take notes during her talk. After I asked
repeatedly she finally gave me permission to do so. It felt strange
that I needed her permission to copy down a few numbers.
Secondly she stated that Dr. Peterson would not take my son on
as his patient because he attends boarding school out of state. I
did not get that idea from my talk with Dr. Peterson. So I was
surprised of course to learn that my son was ineligible for
treatment.
In summary
I felt Dr. Peterson was kind and ready to answer all of our
questions. This assistant was rather curt and dismissive.
I believe that
when a person works with the public they should exhibit kindness and respect in all cases. This will make for happier
customers.

Came with my 7 y.o. son for an ortho consultation. He was very thorough and knowledgeable. He was attentive to my son's specific needs and what was appropriate intervention at his age. It was reassuring to find a professional that was looking out for my son's long-term dental health as well as financial considerations.

Originally from the southwest suburbs of Chicago and a graduate of Marist High School, Dr. Robert M. Peterson, Jr. has been practicing orthodontics in the Park Ridge community for over 20 years. After attending Loyola University of Chicago, Dr. Peterson received an early acceptance into the University of Illinois Dental School and started dental school at the age of 20. He practiced as a general dentist for seven years prior to becoming an orthodontist, giving him the experience and knowledge of how crowns, periodontal problems, decay, and dental skeletal issues can affect orthodontic treatment.
Dr. Peterson decided to continue his education and specialize in orthodontics because he enjoys the reward that a beautiful smile can bring to a patient. He returned to the University of Illinois, earning his Master's of Science degree in Orthodontics.
He is dedicated to expanding his knowledge with continuing education through his affiliations with the American Association of Orthodontists, Midwest Society of Orthodontists, Illinois Society of Orthodontists, and the University of Illinois Alumni Association. By regularly participating in continuing education and being involved with the greater orthodontic community, Dr. Peterson is able to stay current on the latest technology and orthodontic treatments.
Dr. Peterson is committed to providing quality orthodontic treatment while exceeding his patients’ and parents’ expectations with fantastic results. While he has a strong focus on clinical excellence, Dr. Peterson also enjoys helping both children and adults have a positive and fun orthodontic experience.
