Dr. Rein is a Fellow of the Academy of Dental Materials. Every day, I love coming to work and helping my friends and neighbors live healthy, happy lives. Being a dentist is truly a dream come true, and I want to make every visit a wonderful experience for my patients. The best part of my day is when a patient looks up and smiles at me after a treatment or visit and says, "That was so easy!" Coming to see the dentist should be a great part of your day, and I work hard to make sure that happens at every visit.
Before I became a dentist, I enlisted in the US Air Force, and was trained as a Weather Observer at Chanute AFB in Rantoul, IL. I was then stationed at Malmstrom AFB in Great Falls, MT. During my stay, I qualified for rawinsonde with the US Weather Service, and was then accepted as an Airborne Weather Recon dropsonde operator, crewing in WC-135B and WC-130 aircraft for long-range weather and hurricane tracking. I was stationed in Japan and Sacramento, CA, and my duties took me all over the Pacific, Caribbean and Europe.
After my discharge, I returned to school in California, and earned my Bachelor degree in Biology in 1978 from Humboldt State University, with additional training in Transmission Electron Microscopy. I then attended Northwestern University Dental School, graduating in 1984. During dental school I was elected Fellow in the Academy of Dental Materials. After graduation, I completed a one-year Hospital Residency at the VA Lakeside Hospital in Chicago.
Since becoming a dentist, I have continued my professional studies, and I am certified in laser soft tissue treatments. I know that in order to always provide my patients with the best treatments possible, I must always stay abreast with the most efficient and advanced dental methods.

Robert Rein DDS and his staff are fantastic! The new person at the front desk could be better. She acted like she was too busy and I was unimportant both over the phone and in person. She also rescheduled my appointment and cancelled my already scheduled appointment without a cause. The first time this has happened to me. This dentist is great, the person at the front desk was not.

Great appointment- everyone at the office is very nice! Dr. Rein was very kind, caring, and explained everything he was doing. Janet, the dental assistant, was so funny and was gentle during taking xrays-- which can be quite the pain. Was seen on time and was out of there in an hour! You can tell that these guys really love their jobs- do not hesitate to book an appointment here.

Dr. Rein and his staff are pleasant and super accommodating! Everyone is always very aware if you might have even an inkling of pain. Dr. Rein also tells you what he is doing and approximate time it will take, as he is working on your teeth, which I really like! I highly recommend him! BTW - he also has Saturday and weekday evening hours until 8 pm, which a plus for those that work.

It was visiting the dentist. I need to floss more, but thats me not the staff ha ha. The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable. I have been going here for years and come back each time knowing I will leave with a better smile than I showed up with.

My last visit with Dr. Rein was just before I was due to go out of town. I was very happy he was able to fit me in to replace a filling on a front tooth. His qualifications are impeccable (Northwestern School of Dentistry), he does excellent dentistry. Plus, he's quite personable, great chairside manner.
