Dr. Varney and her assistant are fabulous! She tells you what she's doing as she does it without being chatty. They are true professionals and while going to the dentist is probably the last thing I want to do, they definitely improve the experience. I now have a new dentist, Dr. Varney!

Writing this review is such a pleasure that I am almost in tears because I am so overwhelmingly pleased and my optimisim has been renewed. Dr. Varney was so pleasant with my 84 year old mother and it is good to have people treat all patients with patience and consideration. All too often once passed a certain age - many professionals disregard the elderly and just do whatever it take to get by. Dr. Varney is an exception. A wonderful exception. A blessing of an exception.

Dr. Varney opened her first private dental practice in Reston in 1977, where she enjoyed providing top-quality service to her patients for over 25 years. During that time, she was named one of Virginia's top dentists and featured in Washingtonian magazine's "Top 100 Dentists in the Metropolitan Area" issue. Dr. Varney and her husband have raised two wonderful daughters and are the proud grandparents of six grandchildren of school age.
Dr. Varney sold her Reston practice in 2002 but after several years realized her passion for dentistry never subsided. With her husband's encouragement, she was excited to create a new dental practice in Leesburg that is geared toward sensitivity to patient care and satisfaction as well as educating the patient on the oral health options available specifically to them. Despite the fact that her children said "Mom, you are the only person we know who flunked retirement," she is happy to get back into the profession she continues to love with a passion.

This is a re-write of a review I just completed, but was prematurely sent, prior to completion. As a repeat, let me say at the outset that I am a very anxious patient. Dr. Varney and all her staff always make me comfortable, and they do a brilliant job of resolving my many, often complex dental needs. They are very thorough, totally proficient, and wonderfully personable. I've been a patient of Dr. Varney's for many years, and have always had unequivocally positive experiences with her practice.

I was very impressed and thankful for Dr. Varney! We were sent to Dr. Varney in somewhat of an emergency state. Her experience and professionalism helped our case immensely! My 15 year old daughter was faced with the possible need of a major, extensive, and expensive procedure that we were hoping to put off until she reached 18 years old and a full grown mouth. Dr. Varney was able to skillfully perform procedures to save the tooth without the premature permanent crown that we were anticipating. This procedure saved much trauma, anxiety, time, and money!! We are so happy we were referred to Dr. Varney!

Not only is Dr. Varney very professional and has a great bedside manner, she made me feel very comfortable at my appointment . After reviewing my case and hearing how apprehensive I was about what we thought I needed, she suggested an alternate course of treatment to fix the problem. Excellent service from the paperwork to my dental services.
They were fast, gentle in my work to be done and fast to get me scheduled for more work to be completed this week. And they provided me a treatment plan after verifying my insurance, so I knew what my costs would be today.
Very satisfied. Especially since dentists make me anxious, they worked well with that too and walked me through each step with care.
I'd highly recommend this newer hi tech, comfortable office in Leesburg.

Beautiful state of the art office. Can't say enough about the care, professionalism and just pure warmth from Dr. Varney and staff... from the first consult, through the pretty involved (and would've been painful, but turned out not to be) impacted molar extraction..... a great experience (It sounds weird saying this about a dentist. Easy to get to and lots of parking - plus close to downtown Leesburg, where I retreated to sooth my gums and find not so hot coffee.

I've been to the office twice now. State of the art equipment. Staff very warm and friendly. Dental hygienist was thorough, engaging and skilled. The dentist actually determined that a tooth another office thought was a cavity was in fact just some surface damage on the tooth. This saved me from having an unnecessary filling. Thanks Dr. Varney. I'm definitely coming back.

I am a "dental phobic," so was very pleased to find this wonderful dental practice. Dr. Varney is the best; and Dana, the hygenist, is as thorough in educating as she is in caring for my teeth & gums. She has proven that you can teach an old dog a few new tricks that make all the difference in oral health. Everyone is cheerful and accommodating when it comes to making appointments. The pleasant atmosphere makes the trip to the dentist far less daunting than it was the last. I highly recommend Loudoun Dental Smiles.

The entire team including staff, hygienists, and doctors always offer superb care. You are greeted with a warm smile and welcome upon arrival and the same friendly service continues throughout the visit. They are great w/both kids and adults and perform gentle superior care w/utmost attention to all details.
