Dr. Shana Nistar is a warm, thorough dentist treating patients in the San Antonio and greater Texas areas. She has a passion for dentistry and a compassion for those she treats. As a wife and mother of two children, she understands the importance of oral health for the whole family. Her approach is to treat patients like family members and protect their total dental health. She is also multilingual, speaking English, Spanish, and Tamil.
Originally from Connecticut, Dr. Nistar pursued her dental education at Columbia University. She then served in the United States Army as a commissioned dentist at Fort Hood, Texas for four years. During that time, her treatment of complex oral cases and four-year commitment merited two medals and an honorable discharge.
Patients visiting Dr. Nistar can receive a full range of dental care. She offers general consultations and dental cleanings, as well as procedures including extractions, fillings, crowns, bridges, and root canals. Cosmetic procedures such as Invisalign, ZOOM whitening, veneers, and implants are also available. When she is not treating patients, Dr. Nistar enjoys spending time with her husband Joel, a professor at UTSA, and their two children, Aalia and Kander. They enjoy spending time outdoors and exploring what the great city of San Antonio has to offer.
