Dr. Slavko Duzdevich - Perez is one of the founding members of ProSmile. A 1986 graduate of the Dental School at Stony Brook New York, he completed his undergraduate degree at City College at CUNY.After several years of working in Puerto Rico with the National Health Corps Dr. Duzdevich-Perez was appointed Director of Dental Services at Hospital Castañer.Although life was idyllic in Puerto Rico, his heart was in New York. So upon returning to the big Apple in 1990, Dr. Duzdevich spent the next few years honing his cosmetic dentistry skills and on the way became associate professor at New York Medical College.
From 1992 thru 1998 he was chief resident with the Health & Hospital Corp of New York, Associate professor and attending Resident at Metropolitan Hospital, New York.
In 1996 Dr. Duzdevich - along with his brother Vel (also a dentist) - founded ProSmile with the primary goal of providing not just great dental treatment, but great service.

Dr. Duzdevich is very knowledgable and good at what he does. He is very kind, however I ranked his bedside manner "3 stars" for two main reasons:
1) He is not forthcoming with information. I have to be an advocate for myself in order to understand the prescribed treatment. For instance, I had never had a cavity requiring filling before coming to ProSmile. It was never explained to me what I should expect before during or after the procedure. It was not explained how it would affect my tooth, how long it would take to heal, what the risks in filling the tooth were versus "watchful waiting".
2 - I have a fake tooth and he has mentioned how "bad" it looks every time I've come into the office for a procedure or routine cleaning. I can't afford a cosmetic crown, and even if my insurance covered it, and I am more concerned with my dental health than aesthetic. I understand the practice is called "Prosmile", but how my tooth LOOKS is not medically relevant.

Both Dr Duzdevichs who work here are great, but I had a horrible experience with their Dr Levi. His bedside manner was dismissive and somewhat rude. He also kept going back and forth between me and another patient WHILE HE WAS DOING MY CAVITY, so I sat there bleeding with a tube in my mouth and he disappeared. It was very scary. The fillings he did also feel very sensitive- even though it's been much more than a couple of weeks, and I doubt the office would have another dentist there fix it for free.
Don't get me wrong about Dr Duzdevich, though. Dr D is AMAZING, and I HIGHLY recommend him and the other dentists- they are very kind and very good at their jobs, but DON'T work with Dr Levi if at all possible.

Woww!!! What an amazing amazing dentist!!! I had to have a root canal,and I was really nervous going in, But Slavko soothed my nervousness right off the back, when he reassured me and walked me through the whole process.. He's very gentle and patient conscious, I would highly recommend him to my family friends and anyone, so so happy with my visit and follow-ups!!! Thanks again Slavko!!

At first it was great, although I had lots of cavities, but after multiple root canals that still hurt after the fact and the dentist declaring he'd done them perfectly, but would redo them if I reallly wanted, I was not pleased. The fillings (or whatever it's technically called) that he put in after my root canals also caused problems in that they did not fit properly, caused discomfort, and had to be reshaped multiple times. I finally didn't even go back for the last filling of my other root canal because I knew it would just be another ineffective attempt that would bring me back to the office again to be fixed.
I also found the dentist's rapport overly personal, as he even texted me one time, after an appointment, to ask me about having appendicitis since his niece had it (I had mentioned I'd had my appendix removed during our appointment). Overall, I will not return to this practice. On the bright side, though, the receptionists and dental assistants are lovely and everyone is very straightforward about pricing.

I had to wait about 45 minutes to be seen, but the receptionist and staff were very nice - they apologized and kept me updated on how much longer it would be. The technician who took my X-rays and performed my cleaning was extremely nice and courteous. The Dr then came over at the end to discuss my teeth and Xrays.
Overall I would recommend this office.

I was very pleasantly surprised. I am a dental scaredy cat so I was very apprehensive. But as soon I, walked into the office I was greeted by a comforting and caring young lady. Carolina I believe is her name. The office is clean, bright and very "un office like" I started feeling better. I was ushered to the back by another warm friendly face. I think the staff is freind to make you feel comfortable. Anyway it works. So now I meet th Dr. Mr warm and friendly himself. Dr. Duzdevich has a very disarming way about him. The digital X-rays showed right up on the monitor over the chair and everything was explained to me in a simple and understanding way. I like the technology, I liked the staff and I definately appreciate Dr. Duzdevich. Fortunately I did not have much to do. I made an appt to come back for a cleaning. I can't say I can't wait, but I definatly am not apprehensive any more.

I'm terrified of dentist Dr. Duzdevian was gentle he explained the procedure in details and offer various options to me. I was very happy with my visit I didn't feel any pain and it was over in a blink of an eye. I will recommend to Duzdevich to all family and friends. My entire visit was pleasant from the moment I called, the front desk was very professional they acknowledge me and made me feel at home.

ProSmile is the best. I had a great experience from the moment I stepped into the practice. The front desk is very warm and friendly. The doctor was very funny and knowledgeable. He answers all my questions and concerns. I will be recommending everyone here.
