Took my toddlers to see the dentist, who are aged 5 and 3. Both were crying, especially my 3 year old, who wouldn’t stop screaming throughout the treatment. Staff and Dr Soon were very patient. She even sang a song while brushing their teeth. Great experience. Will be back again.

Dr. Sue grew up in the Sunshine State, Florida. She completed her dental education from the University of Pennsylvania with a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. With her strong interests in education and caring for children, she then came to New York where she completed her certificate in pediatric dentistry at Columbia University. Dr. Sue has further shared her passion in pediatric dentistry by treating children abroad in multiple dental mission trips to Guatemala since 2010.
Dr. Hwang is a respected diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) and a board certified pediatric dentist. Dr. Sue focuses on preventive care to help each child have a healthy smile that will last a lifetime. She hopes to do her very best in guiding her patients’ dental growth and development within a caring, nurturing environment.

I am so happy I found Dr. Sue here on Zocdoc. My son was having Sever tooth pain. She got him in same day and was able to determine the cause of the pain, and a treatment plan which will be fulfilled next day. I am so happy with the office staff and our entire visit. I can’t wait to bring my son back for his six month check up!

The entire staff were friendly and very accommodating to our every need. The front desk was very friendly and helpful in booking future appointments. Sue Hwang was great with both our kids and very patient even though my kids were resisting with all their strength. She gave very detailed explanations and great advice. I look forward to our next visit!

Loved the office, everyone was so nice. Soon Hwang was so sweet to my baby girl. She made her as comfortable as possible and allowed the parents to enter the room. Some dentist have a rule no parents allowed and I just can't understand how that is possible so I felt at ease when Dr Hwang had no issues and she was so professional. Will come back here again and highly recommend her.

Dr. Hwang and her assistant were very professional when dealing with me but I was most impressed with how friendly they were towards my son. This was only his second ever dentist appointment but last time we had used another practice (bc of insurance differences) and I am so happy that my insurance recommended Dr. Hwang to us. The previous office was just not quite as kid-friendly. The office waiting room was clean and fun for kids, and being nervous for my son to hate going to the dentist I was so very pleased with how nice and fun she made the appointment by singing songs to my son and giving him high fives and stickers. The only downside was that parking was limited so we had to use a valet, but for Dr. Hwang I guess we can overlook that!

The reception/waiting area is very small. The toys and chairs for the children were very dirty, my 5 year old didn't want to play with them. The nurses were very nice and patience with my child. The dentist on the other had rushed through the exam and suggested I have my child sedated to fill cavities. I'm still unsure how I felt about the visit overall.

My two year old got the bad dental genes in the family. Dr Sue was amazing! Her staff is very friendly and professional. I liked how Dr Sue took time out to talk TO me and not at me. She was very present and patient. I witnessed her dealing with a couple of difficult situations with parents who had trouble seeing their children suffering through dental procedures and she handled them really well though she looked really flustered after. I love her!

I've only seen Dr. Soon once but I am already looking forward to our future appointments. She has so much energy, was wonderful with my 12 month old, sang to her during the check-up procedure, very warm, comforting, and I felt she gave me her honest opinion.
Also, the office staff was very friendly and professional. Had a great first dentist experience (for the little one) here.

We saw another dentist in the practice. She was great with my daughters. For my 4 year old, this was the third dentist she has seen and the first one who was able to successfully examine and clean her teeth. The dentist let my 2yo and 4 yo sit on my lap for the whole exam. She explained everything and sang songs while she cleaned their teeth. They were comfortable and we will return.
