More about Dr. Steven Smunt, DDS
Dr. Steve Smunt received his professional degree from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry, Chicago, in 1980. Raised in Westchester, IL., he graduated from Proviso West High School in 1972, and moved on to attend the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where, in 1976, he was awarded his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology.
In 1980, Dr Smunt was granted licenses to practice general dentistry in Illinois and Wisconsin. He enjoys all the fields of concentration encompassed by general dentistry. He advanced his knowledge in orthodontics through post-grad training in 1989-1990, sponsored by the American Academy of Gnathological Orthopedics, and in 1992, sponsored by the American Orthodon tic Society. He currently maintains accreditation as a general dentist through the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Steve and his wife, Mary Ann, have resided in St. Charles since 1981. They are parents to four children, all of whom graduated from St. Charles East High School. Two of Dr. Smunt’s passions are historic preservation and antique collecting. Steve and Mary Ann own and maintain a historic, 1898, Queen Ann house as a designated city landmark. Dr. Smunt is the current chairman of the St. Charles Historic Preservation Commission.
