Dr. Steve grew up on the Northwest Side of Chicago and has spent most of his life in the Chicagoland area. He attended Northwestern University for his undergraduate studies where he obtained a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Eventually, he found his way to dentistry and attended the University of Illinois at Chicago's College of Dentistry. Graduating with honors in 2007, he decided to further pursue his education by completing a one year general practice residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. There, he was able to work alongside specialists to gain further experience in all aspects of dentistry and to gain exposure to hospital dental treatment. Dr. Steve and Dr. Choi started their current practice in 2008 and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Dr. Steve has gained a unique perspective on the importance of dentistry through working in areas of the country with little to no dentists, through his work in underserved areas of the city, and through his work on special needs patients and in hospital dentistry. Dr. Steve is dedicated to keeping up with advances in dentistry and strives to continue educating himself on new updates in the dental field. Dr. Steve is also a firm believer in good communication with his patients.
Dr. Steve is happily married to his wife Laura and they have two sons, Luke and Grant. He is also a big Chicago sports fan. Dr. Steve spends his free time playing water sports, watching sports on television, and reading.

Dr. Vonglukiat is great, he clearly knows what he's talking about, made me feel comfortable, and answered all of my questions and concerns about my teeth. I'm glad I lucked out on finding a good dentist in Chicago.
