As strange as it sounds, I decided I wanted to be a dentist at a fairly young age. In my freshman year of high school, I realized that whatever I ended up doing in the future, it had to include changing the lives of other people for the better and working with my hands. After shadowing different medical professionals, I was drawn to the fusion of medicine, art, and engineering that dentistry provides. But let's be honest, I had no idea at that young age that dentistry would not just be my profession, but also my obsession. Yes, you heard that right-I am obsessed with teeth. It sometimes feels like a problem, mostly to my wife and friends, but it truly allows me to give my patients the best possible care they deserve.
After growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, IL, I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois – Urbana Champaign. Go Illini! Following graduation, I moved to the East Coast to attend the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where I earned my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. After working as an associate for close to seven years, I decided I wanted to build something bigger-a dental office that didn't feel like the dreadful place everyone fears. A safe space, with no judgment, where I could show patients that dentistry doesn't need to be scary. Using the latest technologies and techniques, I aim to create the ultimate patient experience. That is the vision behind Smile Flossophy.
I'm not only married to dentistry-I'm also married to my beautiful wife, Brinda, and we have the most spunky, cute, energetic daughter named Naya. We are residents of Robbinsville Township, and giving back to our Mercer County community has always been important to us. In our free time, we love to travel the world, volunteer at our temple, and be silly with Naya.

Dr. Thakkar and the staff at Smile Flossophy were extremely friendly and professional. As a new patient, my first appointment took about an hour, and the hygienist made sure I was completely comfortable the whole time. They have fantastic amenities and beautiful office space! Would highly recommend this dentist for a very relaxing and modern experience!
