I am 67 and I have visited many dentists over the years for many different procedures including extractions, root canals, crowns, in addition to regular procedures. What I have noticed is that the way a dentist can use their hands varies. They all have to be highly skilled but there are differences. My prior dentist in New Jersey had better "hands" than any I had previously encountered including his late father who was my original dentist. When I moved from NJ to California i had concerns going to a new dentist. I was therefore pleasantly surprised to find that Dr. Ro's "hands" were just as good as my prior dentist.

She is dedicated to providing the best dental care possible with the highest quality products and up-to-date, state of the art technology. Dr. Susie Ro grew up in New York, and moved to San Diego after marrying her husband. She spends most of her time outside of work, with her family, husband Thomas, and her adorable 17 month old son, Sebastian; and of course we can't forget her 3lbs Chihuahua, Yoda. She loves traveling, crossfit, scuba diving, snowboarding, photography, and watching action movies.
Prior to building smile., Dr. Susie Ro worked for private practices in Newport Beach, Irvine, and La Jolla. She has 12 years of experience in the dental field. In her own words: "I built smile. with one thing in mind: SEEING YOU SMILE." She offers complimentary consultations and second opinions.

They were fantastic! I was really anxious because I had a terrible experience with my last dentist and Paris, the dental assistant, was really sweet and great and asked very frequently if I was doing alright since I have some sensitivity. Dr Ro was really great and sweet also! The whole thing was quick, calm, and pain free! Plus they have a TV in the ceiling so it gives you something to watch and make the time pass in the dental chair.

By far the BEST dentist office I've been to. The front desk staff were so welcoming. The dental hygienist made sure I knew what she was doing at all times and also made sure I was comfortable. Dr. Susie was so pleasant and reassuring. She's more concerned about the health of your teeth and gums than selling you on things you don't need. I definitely will be back!!!

5 stars....from the beginning. Really friendly helpful staff , beautiful office with massage chairs and flat screens on the ceiling. You can almost forget your at the dentist. Dr.Ro is very sweet and explains everything going on. I could almost become a fan of the dentist office. Highly recommend.

Great Dentist with a great staff. Everyone was super friendly and we went over expenses before we scheduled any further visits. First time back in over 4 years, but they didn't make me feel bad for letting things slip a little. Helped a lot with the apprehension of returning.

Awesome office staff were very welcoming as soon as I walked in. Dr. Ro explained everything so that I could understand as she was doing the exam and going over x-rays. Hygienist was very friendly and both he and Dr. Ro made the visit very comfortable, quick, and painless. Afterwards the woman at the front desk sat down with me to explain exactly what insurance was going to cover and what my options were for future appointments. Best first experience I've had at a new dentist

Dr. Ro was great! Stayed late on Friday to accommodate me. Was very thoughtful and considerate. She explained everything to me and was very gentle. Sat in massage chair and watched TV in the ceiling and she was done before I knew it. She will be my dentist from now on.

Dr. Ro said her practice is relatively new (~6 months), so when I went in (8:30am weekday appointment) it was just her and one assistant. My past experiences going to the dentist have all included waiting 15-30 minutes, then getting cleaned by the dental hygienist, and seeing the actual dentist for about 5 minutes at the end. Not the case here. The entire appointment was conducted by Dr. Ro with her assistant by her side. I enjoyed this high level of service, but it seems unrealistic to keep that up once her practice scales up.
As far as the cleaning itself, it was my first time with the ultrasonic cleaner, so that was a little jarring, but it seemed to be very effective and was much quicker than my usual cleanings. Dr. Ro was very patient and did a good job preparing me and keeping the atmosphere comfortable; the dental chair has a built in massaging vibrator and there is a TV on the ceiling! They took a lot of X-rays and had a nice system for immediately bringing them up on the computer screen to explain what was going on with different teeth. She will probably bring up Invisalign unless your teeth are 100% perfect. I decided to go for it since it was 2/3’s covered by my insurance for the shortest plan.
I have no reservations giving Dr. Ro my wholehearted recommendation for anyone looking for a new dentist!

Facility was beautiful, Dr. Ro was really concerned with my comfort as I was in pain. Was super impressed with all of the extra touches this office had to offer such as massage chair, tv on the ceiling, etc. Gentle hygienist, and pleasant and helpful office manager.

Great dental experience. I've had less than positive experiences in the past at other dentists but this one was good. Beautiful new office, friendly staff, state of the art equipment and good service. Although I have a few non critical things that need to eventually be taken care of there was no pressure to get it all done right now or all at once. Glad to have found Dr. Ro!

Such a nice office! Idk what was better, the HD tv screen on the ceiling & wall or the fact that i had my cleaning done in a MASSAGE CHAIR! lol i hate going to the dentist but Susie Ro makes the experience so pleasant. She is so sweet & so thorough. I'm 30 years old, have been to many dentists, none of them ever explained things, showed me things, & gave me as much information as she did. I will definitely be going back to her again!

It had been a long time since my last appointment with any dentist. As a result of my excellent experience with Dr. Ro and staff I've found a dentist that I will regularly return to. Dr. Ro fully informed me of my treatment options without pushing anything. In the end, I was very satisfied with the information provided, cleaning, and treatment received.
