When Dr. Brown started his college journey, he originally wanted to become an engineer. However, after two years of engineering classes, he realized he was much more interested in biology and chemistry than math and physics. The summer after his sophomore year, he decided to start shadowing various healthcare professionals, such as physicians, dentists, and optometrists. He ended up shadowing a dentist who a friend of the family and became inspired by the way the man was able to interact with patients in such a personal way. He loved that he took the time with each person to address their needs and exceed their expectations. At that moment, Dr. Brown realized that dentistry was a career that he could really enjoy. The next semester, he changed his major to pre-dentistry and never looked back!
Dr. Brown attended the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, graduating in 2015. He then decided to work as an associate dentist in his home state of Indiana for a few years, followed by a stint in Portland while his fiancé pursued a master’s program. Finally, they moved to Colorado in January of 2020, and he joined the Evergreen Dental Group team very soon after.
As for additional training, Dr. Brown has completed 20+ hours of continuing education every year since 2015. He enjoys learning more about all aspects of general dentistry! He is currently a member of the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Metro Denver Dental Society.
Dr. Brown’s parents still live in Indiana, where his father owns a construction company and his mother works as a florist after retiring from nursing. His younger brother is a nurse, and his younger sister works in healthcare job recruitment. He and his fiancé are avid hikers in the summer and snowboarders in the winter. He also likes to run and ride his road bike for daily exercise. They hope to get mountain bikes soon so they can enjoy the great biking culture all around Evergreen!
