The dentist himself was excellent and I would highly recommend. However, I was surprised when I got a very high out of pocket for deep cleaning, and 4 fillings. Very very high. Not sure what they particularly do that other dentists don't do, but I have never paid a dime out of pocket for all the dental work I've had done. The main problem I had was that I was not informed of the shortfalls after they got authorizations from my dental insurer and before I went there. They called to simply say they had received authorization to proceed with the appt and that I should come in as scheduled. No mention that the services were not 100% covered nor the extent of the shortfalls. This particularly disappointed me.
If it's a network dentist and if it's not about affordability (if out-of-network), then by all means go for it, Dr Boyer himself is great!

I have been a client for a few months and it was the first time I was double booked which means I waited a long time and spent a total of 3 hours visit.

Varo Boyer DDS is a graduate of UCLA School of Dentistry with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He is continuously committed to improvement and continuing education, and has continued his training at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. Here, in addition to comprehensive dental care, his focus was on treating medically compromised patients, covering trauma cases in the emergency room and extensive training in dental surgery. Additionally, he has received training while working with the Veterans of the United States. At the Veterans Affairs Hospital in North Hills and West Los Angeles, he spent one year treating patients with complex dental needs. In order to further his education in the aspects of implant dentistry, Dr. Varo focused his training in oral surgery, placement and restoration of dental implants. As well, he speaks three foreign languages: Armenian, Russian and Spanish.
Dr. Varo is a faculty member at the UCLA School of Dentistry, where he enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience with the dental students and stays abreast of the advances in dentistry.
