Dr. Vasilios Kostakis was born and raised in Clearwater, Florida. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida in 2008. In 2010, he moved to New York to attend Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2014. He went on to complete 4 years of surgical training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Northwell Long Island Jewish Medical Center. During his residency, he underwent vigorous training in dentoalveolar surgery, head and neck pathology, anesthesia, maxillofacial trauma, orthognathic surgery, temporomandibular joint disorders, dental implants, and facial reconstruction. In his final year of residency, he served as Chief Resident at Northwell LIJ Medical Center, Stony Brook University Hospital, and the Northport VA Medical Center. Dr. Kostakis joined Leading Edge Oral Surgery in 2018 upon completion of his residency training. He prides himself on providing passionate, high quality care in the safest and most comfortable way possible. In his free time, Dr. Kostakis enjoys playing sports, traveling, and spending time with family.
