About Dr. Walter Foto
Dr. Walter Foto, BDS, DMD, is a highly skilled oral and maxillofacial surgeon. With extensive experience in oral surgery, dental implants, general anesthesia for all age groups, facial aesthetics, and special needs dentistry, Dr. Foto is known for delivering expert, patient-centered care.
Born in Cameroon, West Africa, Dr. Foto began his academic journey at St. Joseph’s College Sasse and the Cameroon College of Arts, Science, and Technology. He later earned a dental degree from the University of Ibadan in Nigeria, where he received the prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship. After moving to the United States, he earned his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) from the University of Pennsylvania, graduating with distinction as the sole recipient of the National Boards Merit Award for Academic Excellence.
He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Washington, training at renowned institutions such as Harborview Medical Center, Seattle Children’s Hospital, and Ziekenhuis Hospital in the Netherlands. He was also a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons. Following residency, he joined a private practice and has since become a respected figure in the dental community.
Dr. Foto is board-certified by The American Society of Dental Anesthesiologists and is an active member of the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, and the Association of Facial Aesthetics. He also serves as President of the Cameroonian Society in the greater Seattle area.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Foto enjoys spending time with his wife and six children, cooking, staying active, reading foreign affairs, and traveling.
