She was so gentle. Very Thorough. Had a root canal and came out feeling like I just had a little cavity fixed. I didn't feel any pain even the numbing needle/injection was virtually painless.

Dr. Wanda I. Saldaña is a Puerto Rican native who graduated from the University of Texas Dental Branch 27 years ago. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Saldaña completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at Eastman Dental Center in Rochester, New York.
During the early years of her career, she provided dental treatment to the underserved Hispanic and low income communities in a capital region healthcare center.
Dr. Saldaña was always interested in orthodontics. In the year 2000 while living in Houston, Texas she started pursuing her interest in this field by attending several two year comprehensive courses on the subject. This allowed her to offer orthodontic treatment to her general dentistry patients. She witnessed how her orthodontic patients enjoyed better occlusion, self-esteem, confidence and improved oral health. With this in mind, she founded WIS Dental Services in 2002.
As a member of the International Association of Orthodontics, Dr. Saldaña attends Continuing Education courses for her professional growth as well as the benefit of her patients. She has duly completed the educational program sponsored by The Clinical Foundation of Orthopedics & Orthodontics: "Practical TMJ & Orthodontic Therapy".
In the past 6 months, she has been incorporating cranial releases into her practice for patients suffering from TMD, as well as head and neck pain. This also allows her to increase patient comfort during and after dental procedures.
Dr. Saldaña dedicates most of her weekends to volunteer work. She also spends time with her two avian friends - Patrie and Eli.
